Not everyone wants others from the forum to be able to contact them in real life but I would like to facilitate a way in which this can occur among those of us who do want to have such things conveyed to the rest of the forum. I am thinking of a forum or sub-forum, perhaps within the Administration & Notices category, or possibly a sub-forum of Family & Relationships. Let's throw around a few ideas and I'll set something up.
I am overwhelmed to learn this. Gary and I conversed "off the record" a number of times. A true Veteran. Saddened, and wish I had known if he were still active, how much I would have liked to talk, just a little bit more. Rest easy, guy. Frank
I guess we never know when it's our time, he was only 71 and seemed healthy and even posted a few days prior to this....very unexpected.
I am going to miss Gary as he and I seen eye to eye on many subjects and he was well informed we will miss his knowledge very much. May there be a special place up there for such a good man
Thing is, none of us really never tell our current health situation, bad or good, to others on this forum. Gary was a nice member and will be missed.
I didn't agree with everything he said politically but that's not important. I liked him and his sense of humor and he was a good man and died too young but it's comforting to know he died in his sleep...that's the way I want to go also.
I think a lot of us do talk about our health...at least as far as we know. He may have had an underlying condition that he didn't know he had or it was just something like high BP or something most of us older folks have and control it with meds but doesn't mean we won't get a heart attack or stroke or anything similar. It happens without warning sometimes.
I have given instructions to my wife that should I die during the operation to come on here and let you know.. That didn't happen as I lived through it and I am here alive and kicking... And perhaps causing some trouble as well, I hope.... One fast question...... Why do we say "Rest in Peace" and not "Live in Peace".....??????????????? Shouldn't we want to live in peace rather than rest in peace ??? .................................. Just asking ..........
Answer to your question: Unfortunately, doubt we will ever see “peace” in America, let alone the world. No matter who is President of the U.S. With RIP, we aren’t around all of this unrest anymore. Much better!! Just the way it is and will be.
I like that idea,it makes anyone feel nice when you're wondering about them.Especially when they live alone.NOT cheezy.
I am still worried about Thomas Stillhere. He was having trouble getting around and suffering from the heat and since that, nothing.
