It looks like a duck and swims like a duck so it must be a duck.

 

I agree, it's a duck but what kind of duck? I've raised Peking ducks and Roun ducks and Muscovy ducks and admired Indian Runners but I've never seen one like this.

 

It's probably a gosling having a bad hair day.

 

We have many types of ducks and Canada geese , moor-hens, coots and all sorts of birds in our local rivers around here but this is my favourite... the Mandarin duck..

Holly, that little guy has spectacular plumage. He must be fairly tame for you to approach him so close for the photo. Is there a story with him?
