I’ve never joined FB and have no intention of doing so ....I don’t think anyone is interested in what this oldie eats or what toilet paper I use I’m not interested in gossip or comparing flash cars that many of the younger generation buy ,putting them selfs into deep debt for years just to have the latest car ,to “keep up with the Jones “ I’d rather “talk to my REAL genuine friends “ I’ve made on here
I don’t want to freak anyone out. I just want to be able to keep up with those that are making posts. There isn’t even one person on this forum that I don’t like. But, before I started following you guys, I was missing most of your interesting post. Now if you block yourselves, I understand that you wish to maintain a bit of privacy, and I will unfollow you. But if you set things to members only, I feel welcome to see what you are posting. For instance, @Yvonne Smith’s post always interest me, so I want to know what she is up to. Although, for some unknown reason to me, that doesn’t always mean I know when she posts. Hmmmm ... Yvonne ???
The only thing that I can see That following someone does, is to show me their little avatar on the online area, and if they do not show when they are online (like YOU, @Ina I. Wonder ), then I can’t even tell that much. I never see any ind of indication that someone has posted unless I go to my profile page and click on the “people you follow” link, and I just never remember to do that. Usually, I just look up the name, and then recent posts, to see what someone has been posting; but I often forget to do that, too. Maybe @Ken Anderson can educate us what we need to do to see friend’s post when we are following them ? ?
@Jeff Tracy In our circle, we refer to it, also without respect but with less profane inference, as A$$-Book. Frank
If I am following someone and they post, I get an alert flag in the far upper right hand corner of whatever page I’m on. Then when I tap that alert flag I get a small picture of whomever it is and a notice of where that post is. I don’t know why you don’t see me as well. I tend to stay logged on. @Ken Anderson , we need help master guru.
I just checked. I found I have 6 followers. Of those 6, only 2 "ring a bell" of recent-ness. Hope I didn't drive the 4 away...... Frank
You should get an alert flag when someone you're following posts, even in a thread you haven't participated in. Beyond that, I don't know what it does. It's a standard feature of the forum but not one that I use.
I never get an alert for someone posting, unless they tag me in the post or quote something that I have written. I looked at my settings, and I can’t see anything that would stop those alerts.
There is a simple and quite innocent explanation Ina ... Yvonne has an alter-ego personality known as 'Yvo-Smith & Wesson' due to being one of Kens Angels ... these are the other members ; Sureshot Shirley Mc'Martin Hellbent Holly Saunders Cross Cut Chrissy Jay-Tee Billy Bob Boggs Franky Saloon Hitter Young Ken Anderson Marshal Jumping Jimmy Beam A little while back you were made an honorary member as well ; . . All you need to do is thank Yvonne for forwarding your membership application ... Your 'Kens Angels' name is 'Finer Ina'. When Kens Angels have their next adventure you will be one of the crew. This was the last page of their first adventure ; .
When you tap the 'alert flag' don't tap on the persons name or you just go to their profile - tap on the 'post name' to see what it's about ...
@Jeff Tracy , I’ll have to find that thread. If you ask around you’ll find out that I have another title, it’s Tech Zombie for a darn good reason. I am very much the little Indain that could, and will shoot the bad guy with my .38 Smith & Wesson. I’m not shy, and I’m excellent shot. It’s about the only sport (?) I’m still into. Of course I wish to join in the shenanigans, so if there is another raid happening I want to be a part of it, and I can leave my pistol home if everyone would feel safer around this Indian.
@Jeff Tracy, just what moniker are you traveling under? I wouldn’t want to shoot cha by mistake. Now would I hmmmm ...?
