Al Jolson was my grandpas favorite singer. Wasn't uncommon to walk into their home and Jolson would be singing, Mammy.
We have all sorts of song threads on here, some for old songs, rock and roll songs, happy songs, sad songs, funny songs, and just about every other kind of song that we all remember, and sometimes sing along with. Along with all of those great old favorites, there were some songs (some by well-known singers) that just never became hits, and have pretty much been forgotten about over time. This thread is for those “lost” songs that never make it to the “what are you listening to” threads. Starting off with this one by the Brothers Four.
LOL...Yvonne...you started the same thread way back in 2015..... did you forget? http://www.seniorsonly.club/threads/songs-no-one-remembers-anymore.825/
You are so right, and yes, I had forgotten , and so I didn’t even look for an old thread because we have so many different music threads. Maybe @Ken Anderson can merge the two threads, since this one has just gotten started, and we can add to that older thread. Thank you for finding that , Holly !
@Shirley Martin Now you've gone and done it. Was minding my own business and you had to post a song from ' American Graffiti '. Now I got to watch it again...! One of my favorites:
This one was actually a fairly big hit when it came out, but is now one of the forgotten songs of yesterday, and one that I have always enjoyed. I remember singing along with this song with my mother when it used to come on the radio when I was a little girl. I was listening to Spotify today and knitting, and this is on my favorites playlist.
