The Robins are back strutting about the yard, pausing to listen for worms. There used to be a saying back when my parents were alive. I'm not sure exactly how it went but something like, "When robbins appear, Spring is near." So I'm assuming the reappearance of the robbins means just that, Spring is in the Air.

We used to get Robins over here....but for some reason I have not seen them come for years now @Bill Boggs. But they used to be my first sign of Spring coming too.

I see birds all year but not sure what they are...I have to chase them away because of Pickles.

I see many blue jays though and there is always a dove couple making a nest in my pine tree.

Don't see as many cardinals though.

I have a live in Cardinal pair out in the bamboo. And the blue jays live nearby. I haven't seen a dove since November, nor a brown thrasher. The sparrows and finches have even abandoned me.

Maybe they just took a vacation @Bill Boggs. I'm sure they will be back soon. :)

"Babs Hunt, post: 234412, member: 235"]Our birds that showed up for dinner today.

Wow! What a variety of birds. I think the squirrels that nest in the tree scare a lot of birds away in our backyard. An exception would be the cardinals and bluejays.

There actually were a few others Sparrows, etc. but I took those pictures through my storm door window because I was afraid if I opened the storm door it would startle all of them and they would fly away. :)

This morning Mr. Squirrel was back eating a peanut we had put out for the Blue Jays. :)

Then I walked around and found some more plants "springing" up. :) IMG_0853.JPG

Well, here in northeastern Florida, the daytime temps have been some 14 degrees above normal. That will change by the first weekend of March, when we will go back to our normal average March daytime temp of 75.......which is nice, but still a little cool for boating (for us anyway).

Will be getting the boat ready this week and weekend.

Here we are supposed to reach at least 80 degrees all week. Of course along with that is predicted rain too. :)

We will have those temps as well, but by March 3rd and 4th, temps will be back to a normal high of 74 +\-.

    But, right now.....FABULOUS!!

And of course it wouldn't be Spring without the grass needing mowing so my grandson is taking care of that. :)

I sometimes envy you folks in the South. I once lived in North Carolina and South Georgia, but moved here in 1989 and I guess I am here to stay. It will be weeks until we even see the ground, and more weeks before it is thawed. I have 4 greenhouses (3 small ones and one larger one) that allow me to grow things that don't do well outside. There is still more than 2 feet of snow on the ground and we may get more. On the up side, no snakes, no skunks, no ticks or fleas, no major garden pest--except moose, no raccoons.
