I'm good. Not up to mountain climbing yet but good and cool as a cucumber. No spirits, no weed @Gloria Mitchell merely a feeling of frustration over memory.,However! I was diagnosed with merely old age symptoms and making a big deal out of nothing, so I'm A-OK, maybe a little cow faced.
@Bill Boggs I think that most of us have felt like this on occasion ... was feeling a bit under the weather ( mentally) the other night, I messaged a "Woe is me" to a friend who told me ... shut up and go to bed, you'll feel better tomorrow ... she was correct
Good to hear you are back on form @Bill Boggs .... growing old is not easy at times is it, accepting loss in all it's ways can be tough, I guess fading eyesight helps when you look in the mirror, and fading memory with what you used to be like
Hasn't Jordan Peterson been protested? I've watched several videos with Karen Straughan. She's a men's rights advocate and against all this Third Wave Feminism bull.
Yes @Kitty Carmel he has stirred up a hornets nest among a lot of so called feminist groups, and the PC movement, I agree with a lot he says which makes sense to me, but haven't followed his videos, or read enough of his book to make a judgement of him... I like Karen Straughan's videos, at least the one's I have seen.
Canadian Supreme Court rules against Jordan Peterson, to set up reeducation camp. This is his response.
I can’t blame him for sticking to his guns but I have a feeling that the “re-education” he’s going to face is not exactly what he is being told it is going to consist of. In short, I’d hate to see anything happen to Mr. Peterson but I do think the manner in which his reformation is going to take place will be more like enhanced brainwashing than just a few talks with a social media professional. Just my thoughts and nothing more.
Here we have an interview of Elon Musk by Jordan Peterson and to be truthful, this thread might not be the best place to present it but it is interesting nonetheless. It’s a little long but to me it is one of the better interviews I have seen. Peterson does ask a lot of questions and sometimes does interrupt Musk but overall, Jordan P. is also bringing out what I consider the more informative aspects of what Musk is about.
I get the feeling that societies have faced extreme feminism and matriarchy in the past. Each time it led to demographic collapse, and when humanity survived by the skin of its teeth a new society came out of it. Those new societies are where "oppressive" conventions of women's roles were put in place. It would be nice to break the cycle and establish a stable middle ground. I'm afraid we're already too far gone to break the cycle this time around. Unwillingness to have and raise children have been at extreme levels for too long now.
I have commented before that matriarchal societies thrive in times of prolonged peace and security, but quickly collapse when confronted by a patriarchy. I first discovered that when studying a history of Japan. Japan was once a matriarchy but had time to convert when confronted by a Chinese invasion circa 800 AD. The most recent demonstration was the Chinese invasion of Tibet, which didn't have the time to switch before it was overrun.
Yup and after fending off the “Sea People’s” for the 2nd time, Ramases III might have been able to keep ancient Egypt’s grand civilization going a while longer, that is, if it had not been for a jealous knife wielding concubine. I mean, wasn’t it the place of a good concubine to die with her king instead of causing it and collapsing a whole country?
Good morning to all- And of course, if we're looking into the past here, we must not forget how poorly England did under the rule of Elizabeth I. She just kept the country from falling to Spain and she promoted exploration and expansion of their colonial system and sin of sin, at least according to some who have written here, she did not produce children. You "anti female rulers" have got to do better than what you've done so far to dismiss females as unimportant .in general in government. Some females have been poor, some have been very effective. you all be safe and keep well- Ed
Who was doing that? What has happened is chaotic, almost schizophrenic. Women are "equal" but also "victims?" Just over half the population but "a minority?" Powerful but "need more legal protections?" Gush over ancient female fertility idols yet reject childbirth and motherhood? Want to order people into battle but "aren't required to serve, themselves?" Men should "be more manly" yet themselves reject feminine roles? The point I was making is that societies can only indulge just so much of this bullshit. What's at risk is it all hitting the fan, followed by a compensating overreaction. I worry though that a "middle ground" isn't possible. Surely humanity has struggled with this and war gamed it all out time after time. It might be that stability is only achieved through subjugation, which would be a crying shame.
Two Words: Margaret Thatcher. It is just that DEI does not provide the best for the job. Accomplishments and experience do. Hiring someone for their race or gender, no matter how screwed up it is, does not get the best for the job. Monarchs are now just figure heads.
