Yes, I do. I like to think that they could be the very ones contributed by the widow in the Biblical story although, of course, that's not likely. I used those sometimes, when I was a youth minister, to illustrate the story. They are not reproductions.
Mine are still in the display case that they came in because I'd lose them otherwise, but this is what they look like. They are tiny.
The oldest thing I have is an iron bed that belonged to Mama and Daddy. I don't know how old it is. It's solid iron. The headboard is so heavy that it takes two strong men to move it. I have framed pictures of both sets of my grandparents. I don't know how old they are, either. I don't remember a time that they were not hanging on the wall at our house. When Mama died, she willed them to me.
Well I was just thinkin' you might be pulling my leg here... I mean such a rare item, wouldn't you remember where you got them from?..
Oh, I see. I know that it was a coin shop. I just don't remember the name of it. They are not so rare or valuable, though; at least not the ones that are well worn, as mine are. I think they made a lot of them. You can still buy ancient coins fairly cheap if they're not in collectible condition.
Think this is the oldest thing we have in our house. I took it into a town some time ago to a visiting antique appraiser just to get an idea of the age of it but he didn’t know as he’d only seen one like it before ..I don’t believe it’s got any real value but I was curious of the age of it ....it would be before 1966 when we changed to metric My hubby replaced the ounces and pounds makers some years ago .
