I have a two-week vacation coming up. My wife will be traveling alone to Connecticut Tuesday, where she will be house/dog-sitting for her sister for a couple of weeks, so I will be here alone. She asked me about the weather. Her: "What is it going to be like while I'm gone." Me: "Peaceful."
She has been gone for only a few hours now, but I miss her already. It's interesting how many times I have the urge to say something to her, and then realize she's not home. But then, the dancing girls haven't gotten here yet. Or the pizza.
Although my gal is only going to be gone for about 5 days, perhaps you might like to join me in a game of chess or checkers, Rummy, uh............mumbly peg, or how about fishin'? Yeah, the weather isn't very favorable for drowning worms so maybe we can just settle for "go fish" at the card table. A nice glass of apple cider would be nice.....if I had any. Yep, sure is peaceful. Yep...... Ya know, I was just reading that spoiled milk actually comes from pampered cows. A question in genetics came up asking what might happen if a rhino were to be bred to an elephant. Elephino. Well, all this peace is wearing me out so I guess I will toddle off and find something entertaining to do like trying to catch my big toe or looking at the night sky in this rain storm with a broken telescope. If you come up with something really good @Ken Anderson and ya need a hand plowing the south forty or something, I might be able to make a space in this heavy duty peaceful schedule of mine. The wife has been gone for about 3 hours now and I do not wish to use up all of the things on my "things to do when my wife is gone list" in the next hour so I am definitely looking for suggestions from an old pro like yerself. hmmm..........tie dying, I haven't done that in years! Yeah, I think I might tie dye tootsie's tail ! Or one of Yvonne's swim suits or...............................
Within the next hour or two, my freedom will come to an end. My wife was in Portsmouth last night, and should be hope soon.
I'm thinking you meant to say "and should be home soon." but then again you are probably "hoping" she will be home real soon too.
It has just occurred to me, maybe for the second time, I have only taken one two week vacation in my entire working career.
