Alas, but I do have one more and as a matter of fact, I just viewed it for the first time and will probably be the only time.
    "The Man From Earth"

I really can't say that it was a fantastic experience but it was indeed a movie that provoked a lot of thought. It was centered around a man who said he was nearly 14000 years old and after he said it to a group of his friends, his historical saga began to slowly tether his friends to every spoken word and indeed, I was tethered as well, at least, until the near end.
At one or two points, I likened it to an audio/visual episode of a couple of forums I have been on. While watching, one could easily pick a person and say, "that's me" or "that's whoever" and feel as though you were well on your way into a new realm of fact........or complete and utter insanity with a full well of emotions, reason, logic and even some distant wonder regarding possibilities. Someone to like, someone to dislike, and as always, someone to mistrust and avoid altogether.

I may as well warn those who might wish to see it (Amazon Prime Video) because throughout the entire experience, I know of those who will feel outright rage while others, like myself, will merely walk away from it saying, "it's just a movie" with no saving grace or anything to learn.

But, why then would I be writing about it if there was nothing to learn? Maybe I did.........................

A recent film that really impressed me and I have watched several times, is the 2014 "Interstellar" at it's heart many areas time and humanity, especially relationships and love.....It's on Amazon Prime, at least the UK region at the moment.......

I also like this video of an interpretation of the movie...

Your mention of "The Man From Earth" @Bobby Cole brought to mind the 1976 David Bowie film "The Man Who Fell To Earth" .......I recall to this day seeing at a cinema in Scotland on it's release, and being very impressed, I am not sure how well it has aged, though it has become a cult movie...

Jane not only had a bad relationship with her father during the filming of "On Golden Pond", but she also had a cold relationship with her father during most of the movie!

I do not know exactly what the beef was but it might have something to do with the fact that Henry Fonda was a war veteran and Jane was and is a war disgrace.

I've actually watched the film now after all these years...and what an anti-climax...I spent the whole of the film waiting for something to happen, which of course it never did. I was bored to high frustration with this film... and there seemed to be no warmth of any kind between father and daughter in character or simmering underneath..

I honestly have no idea now, why this film was so popular with the masses, my initial instincts not to watch it were right, I'm sorry I didn't stick with it .

According to Hanoi Jane, she was in the movie at the behest of her dad but she was also one of the producers which to me, lends the reasoning why I thought the movie was so much ta-da-ta-da............

Yea, I see that - saw the trailer - that was enough :p
(liked Kate Hepburn though) but even she couldn't sway me

HEY TIM...your "second part" choices are the exact films I have, but I would add "Dr. Zhivago".
