Many people badmouth the NRA, but although I'm not a Member, I feel that it is the most Patriotic organization in the Country. Hal
It seems like the members of this Forum are too timid to want to voice their opinions on the NRA either way. Perhaps I should not have introduced so controversial a topic! Hal
It's not controversial on here. I'm a lifetime member but my husband bought me that many moons ago. He had lots of guns, I don't have any.
I don't think the NRA would be too controversial a topic here. I was once a member of the NRA. I didn't renew my membership because they seemed too willing to compromise on the Second Amendment, trying to find some middle ground. I am a member of Gun Owners of America, but I do believe that the NRA has done far more good than harm.
Hal, most likely if I would have done this thread, then it would've been pretty controversial We were members, when we lived in Colorado, but stopped the membership. Not that we didn't like the NRA, just didn't want to be a part of it anymore. Is that understandable?? And, to let you know Hal, there are some (note, I did say "some") pretty timid members on here, especially with certain topics. At least that's what I've come to learn.
Reminds me of my husband's rifles. I had forgotten about the rack. Every time we moved we argued about where he was going to put it.
I just read where Oliver North is going to be the new head of the NRA. The Liberals are having a field day. Bless their hearts.
@Cody Fousnaugh If they're "timid", they may be allowed to "fit in" under circumstances not being argued, no? "Not that we didn't like the NRA, just didn't want to be a part of it anymore. Is that understandable??" No, it's not understandable. "Didn't want to be a part of it anymore" indicates some kind of derogatory feeling, some dissatisfaction, some dislike for the organization. Tell us about that. Frank
How about, "I really do not wish to put out the bucks any longer?" Just like belonging to the American Legion. "I really do not wish to put out the bucks any longer." If either one needs a little extra cash, they email me and if I feel that they really need it, I donate. I also do not belong to: The Christian Children's Fund. The ASPCA The United Way MADD NAACP VFW Mensa The Dream Foundation The Ford Foundation (One of my "family" was the CEO) The Shriners nor Masons Get the picture? Anyone who wants to take money out of what little I have, every month and for the rest of my life is just going to have to go it without me.................
When we had our house in Parker, CO, we had our gun/rifle case next to the wall, just a few feet from our front door. First thing anyone who came in our front door would see was that. Just seemed like part of living in Colorado to us. Our gun/rifle case now is in our spare bedroom closet. It's in our Rental Agreement that displaying any firearms in the apartment, where people can see them, isn't allowed. So, it's in the closet.
@Cody Fousnaugh Surprising the firearms are allowed at all. Almost every homeowners' insurance policy, for example, lists as an exclusion from payoff of claim, possession of gas welding equipment on the premises. Of course, mine are in the garage: is that premises? Frank
Guess you’ve never been in a home in parts of Colorado, all of Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, the Dakota’s and any of the Plains Starts. Very common to have/see a gun and/or rife glass case in a home and even rifles on display on a wall in living room. Didn’t you see the photo of the one member showing the rifles displayed on a wall?
