i had a neighbor who use to unscrew jars and taste the product then put it back on the shelf--i have also seen people put meat in their cart then decide they dont want it and leave it over by the can goods--the management puts it back on the meat counter-i have seen produce put in the freezer and i am sure it is back in the produce dept.
@Betty Jones Seems many people have become disrespectful of normal good habits, just don't care; what we see often is products placed among those on the Surplus racks which had been dropped there in favor of surplus items. This is especially true of the baked goods surplus. Frank
I am very OCD about seals...ever since The Tylenol murders. There will be times when I'm not sure if I loosened the seal or not and I throw it out rather than chance it. Too many sickos out there... I distrust my food supply more than I distrust the government, lol.
I had a coffee maker that ground the beans. I purchased a bag of beans at the market and when I got them home realized the seal had been broken. But I was out of coffee so I decided to take the chance. What ever they did to the beans clogged up the grinder on my maker. I ended up loosing my coffee for the day and had to throw out the coffee maker. Another time I watched people opening up jars of spaghetti sauce, sticking their fingers in and tasting them. They opened several jars sampling them all and putting them back on the shelf. I found an employee and they were asked to leave the store, but I didn't see him remove the open jars, that's scary.
Thanks, y'all!!!! Now I will be afraid to use body lotion, drink coffee, and eat spaghetti sauce or nuts!
Me too. I know that I really look at things at the store like the jar seal that will pop when opened. But sometimes I too have wondered "did I use this yet" but I guess I did because it didn't kill me.
