Since you have a different doctor than your husband had, this doctor may very well sign it for you. I can’t imagine why your husband’s doctor wouldn’t sign for him, that seems really strange to me, since he was very sick. I actually got mine when my heart was so bad, and had no problems with getting it. I got the form, took it in, and the doctor signed it. I also signed up for our local transportation, called “Handi-ride”, which is for seniors, or anyone with a disability . You have to buy tickets for it, but if something happened, and I was not able to drive, I could schedule a ride with the Handi-ride.
True, he did ha e a different dr. But I thought it was odd too that my husband didn't get one...he needed it. I'll give it a try...
@Chrissy Cross I hope you have made an appointment to get in to see your doctor. Let us know what he says. I hope it goes as easy as it did with my doctor.
You might want to check with the DMV and see what you need to get the handicapped plate/tag in California. That way, you have time to pick up a form if you need one, or have it mailed, (or maybe you can even print it out from online) and then you will have the form to take in when you go to see your doctor on the 25th.
So can I ......... except when my back is out, or when my heart is acting up. Most days, I do not need it; but on days when it does matter, I am really glad to have that plate and be able to park closer to the store if I have to go there. I just think that it is good to have just in case you do need it. I remember you saying you had to go after groceries, and were worried because your back and shoulder were hurting really bad, and another time, I think that it was the bronchitis.
Yes, I did have bronchitis 2 years ago and my back can hurt, thankfully with therapy my shoulder is better. Truth is that Parking here when I go out is close enough...I usually can get the space next to the handicapped parking spots, so not a problem.
Well I talked to my therapist and she said she'd sign it for me, so I'm taking my summons over to her this morning. My reason being anxiety.
