The word ..... FACETIOUS ...... is the only word in English that has all of the vowels (A E I O U) in its proper order...
@Steve North A surprising number of folks, majority in my experience, do not know the real definiotion of "facetious", imagining it to mean anything from "ridiculous" to "enigmatic".
How many official languages does the North West Territories have ?? Believe it or not, there's 11. English is spoken in every community...
Why English Is So Hard We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes, But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes. One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,... Yet the plural of moose should never be meese. You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice, Yet the plural of house is houses, not hice. If the plural of man is always called men, Why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen? If I speak of my foot and show you my feet, And I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet? If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth, Why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth? Then one may be that, and three would be those, Yet hat in the plural would never be hose. And the plural of cat is cats, not cose. We speak of a brother and also of brethren, But though we say mother, we never say methren. Then the masculine pronouns are he, his and him, But imagine the feminine: she, shis and shim.
I was going to suggest that very thing but hesitated. Didn't want to hurt the feelings of anyone who spends a bunch of money and time doing anti-virus stuff. There is something to be said about having Windows 98 and watching it defrag though. I spent many hours just watching the boxes do whatever they did. Totally hypnotic...............
I also enjoyed the defrag. I always considered whether or not the visual defrag screen was nothing more than eye candy, though.
Check this one out as well.. Very interesting.... Someone is explaining "What is Hell"... http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://themetapicture.com/hell-explained-by-an-engineer-cant-say-i-didnt-expect-that/&h=ATOo2o6G9qpzcznjiEUku_dL89BMvC8YALLTfU0EhfXTGd1FfI0uH-FOtixyKIfkHjI97TaL1WwkgYdeiYHNfqQO2FBSeEGQ7c7-3K6APpwakEaxSn23sA
@Steve North The average area of a pair of adult's lung air-sacs if spread out flat, would cover a football field. Frank
@Nancy Hart Ha, Ha! I certainly could use that, as I can't hear my phone ring. Even on "buzz", it often eludes my detection. But I've always perceived tattoos are painful..............and I've always feared needles! Frank
Speaking of needles... American Pam Turner invented the Spiral Eye side-threading needles, which she launched in 2008. Wonder how well they work?
