Do you? By the way, I'm just a bad Catholic...still the majority religion in the US. I also don't think everyone who calls themselves a Christian really is one...especially when they are so full of hate...just my opinion.
This is a really rude and cruel statement, and I am ashamed that you would say something like this to Chrissy , @Cody Fousnaugh . For one thing, you (or anyone) has no right to judge Chrissy and say whether or not she is a Christian. Not only that, you are basically telling her to “shut up, because your opinion doesn’t count for anything”, which is nothing less than a personal attack on another forum member. Being rude is NOT the example that a true Christian is supposed to display, and it is a long way from showing love and compassion for another human being.
That's what it's all about...love and compassion for others. I show that every day in my real life. I actually do believe what most of you do but I was just trying to show the other side of things today...the more liberal view...they are people too even if we disagree.
PLEASE just "lighten up". It was a joke! Guess you aren't much into humor, are you? Funny, my wife just told me, after I read what you said here...……"don't these people understand humor?" And, BTW, being "rude" is in the eye of the beholder. But, if you want to say I'm rude......go for it. I've been called much worse than that. Actually, I probably shouldn't tell you just how sarcastic I can get. My wife absolutely loves the way I am and the jokes I tell.
Well, if the forum is changing to a really serious one...…...I will be "OUTTA HERE", which, I'm sure, wouldn't bother some of you one dang bit. If I left, I could get more important things done during my day. Just saying.
This is what gets me about you, @Cody Fousnaugh You say you are Christian but you get such delight out of saying that because I'm not wearing cowboy clothes I won't be accepted in small town, Wyoming. To judge what I'm wearing isn't very Christian in my opinion. That's just one small example and that's why I get on you with your cowboys posts. It's the attitude. I think they would like me a lot...I'm very caring and giving and would try to help anyone that I could. Sorry...thought I was in the small town post...that's where this belongs.
Attacking any other forum member REPEATEDLY is NOT a joke , and I do not see any humor in what you said, and I haven’t seen anyone else here that is laughing about it either, @Cody Fousnaugh . You have taken at least three threads off-topic, just to be rude to Chrissy, and I for one, think that she has handled your rudeness very well, and like the kind-hearted lady that she is. Look back through your list of recent posts on your profile, and you can see that almost all of them were directed at Chrissy, and were not kind and friendly posts. Then, when you try to say that this is how a Christian thinks and behaves, I am personally offended to be characterized that way, so I do not think that was funny either. Since your wife is apparently home from work today, maybe you should stick to telling her your jokes and not be hurting people’s feeling here on the forum.
I was being a little provactive today but everybody knows me I hope. I'm just a little less conservative than most on here but I really do identify with all of your views than the far left.
Well one thing we do know...no matter what gender we are...we are all far from perfect and so are our good manners sometimes.
In this forum or any other for that matter, there are things one can joke about and also times when they are appropriate. Either it isn’t the time nor place for trivializing nor challenging one’s belief system or any attempt at humor in a serious conversation wasn’t welcome, is for the receiver of the statement to judge and not the person who made it. Apparently it wasn’t received well so you got angry. Why? It was obviously poor judgement on your part so do please be angry at yourself and not those who might take a degree of offense. In the case that @Yvonne Smith is talking about, your statement was a tad rude rather than funny because Catholics are Christians the same as Protestants. Whether one practices a particular sects ways of worship or not, the belief in Christ is still the main format for Christianity. If your intent is too leave when it gets hot, then as an adult and a free thinker do what you wish but only blame yourself for closing the door because no one is trying to shove you out of it. Just do as I do when I put my foot in my mouth which is to put my big boy gender pants on and be nice......
Personally, I don't see why the topic of this thread should involve religion at all, as I don't think that someone needs to be a Christian in order to tell a boy from a girl. This is why I didn't start this thread in the religion section of the forum. The fact that I chose the psychology section over the science section is probably indicative of my perspective. It could have gone in either, and I did consider it. I did not intend for it to become a Christian versus non-Christian or Protestant versus Catholic debate, however.
I think there are male and female. All that other crap is mental. Do they really cut off the breasts of a sixteen year old girl?????? That is appalling.
There was one case many years ago where a baby's penis was severed in a botched circumcision, although I can't imagine how that happens. He was one of two twin boys, and they (the doctors and the parents, I suppose) decided to remove the rest of it and raise him as a girl. Throughout his/her childhood, this was used as evidence that gender is a mental construct, as this boy-girl seemingly functioned well as a girl. I just read the other day that when s/he turned fourteen, he decided that he was going to live as a boy. How much of what came before was the parents, the doctors, and whatever mental health professionals might have been involved?
