My little dog wouldn't want to go, I can barely get him in the car to make the 150 mile trip to my daughter's. If I ever find a significant other, I might consider driving but not alone. Where did you live before Alaska?
I moved here from South Georgia, near Valdosta on the Florida line. We left at 85 F. and arrived at -20 F. A bit of climate shock, but we had "geared up" in Minneapolis on the way.
Ok 3am in morning here coach picks me up I hope at 5am to take me to Gatwick. Flight takes off at 12am and after a 10 hour flight lands at 2pm in Vegas. Then after getting threw immigration about an hour then a $2 bus ride to my hotel takes about an hour(cabs costs $50) Hope to update if my I pad works over there.
Good luck and enjoy yourself, Tom! Your iPad should work through the hotel's wi-fi, but the cellular service may not.
You're at the airprot now I hope Tom, and as it's still half term school holidays I'm supposing the airport is packed with tourists... hopefully all coming home and not going out.. Leaving at 5am for a 12 o'clock flight was very early... do you live a long way from Gatwick? I hope you have a fantastic time... the atmosphere will be electric, ..I do envy you the trip and the Amazing experience, even tho' I'm not a gambler. ..
Weather warning temp hit 109 cooler the rest of the week around 100. This time the flight was 10hours bit too much. Knocked out of my first tournie after only an hour. Nice to find out that i can ring home through my I Pad for nothing.
Excellent abut be able to ring home for nothing...is that through the hotel system? yep 10 hours is too much flying for me these days as well..I'm kinda dreading my daughter moving to Australia as is her intention in the next couple of years.. Shame about getting knocked out so early in the first tournie... how man do you have to play in this few weeks...?
Back in Blighty. Great 23 days but was to hot. but 24 days as flight home was cancelled. Was nice to listern to the normal folks who sneered at the media such as CNN and supported Trump
Chrissy Am back home Temps are killing me(80f plus), we do not have A/C and we have a high humidity, gaging to enjoy the Vegas Temps of 110f again
Welcome home Tom, I hope you didn't lose too much money but as long as you had a great time that's all that matters. You've missed the hottest of the weather here it's been 90 plus some days ...no AC here either as most of us don't in the UK...hell to sleep even with the ceiling fans ..
Holly. Its still bloody hot in Essex and it is killing me. As you pointed out we Limeys do not have A/C so I lie in bed in the morning covered in sweat In Vegas the temps around 110 F humidity low.. no sweating A/C with everything(even parts of the streets) only felt ill twice..drank a lot more water recovered in 3 hours... but its a lovely heat...not like Florida. PS to American members..are heat is hitting the 80s and we are not used to it.
Yes @Tom Galty ...Vegas is a dry heat so is Fresno to a point. Everywhere is air conditioned. Difference I feel is one is like a hot oven the other is like a sauna. I prefer the oven.
Back in Vegas in 11 days time for 12 days. Third time within a year. I enjoy it at Thanksgiving...I meet a lovely Native Hawaiian a couple years ago who only comes over to meet his relatives and to play poker. Just looked at the weather there...bit like are Temps at moment. Think will book again next year for the end of April. June will be a miss much to hot
