I really like this show, but that birth scene was really pretty difficult to believe! I was trying to figure out what happened with the umbilical cord cutting...I was still pondering that question when Nick showed up, and I forgot the problem immediately.
LOL! Agreed. He's clumsy and unworldly in a lot of ways. Reminds me of a guy I had a crush on in high school.
It's been so long since I watched Season 1 that I don't know what's going on in Season 2 so I am starting over with S1E1.
Maybe the reason y'all are enjoying it more than I did when I first started reading it is because y'all have "Met" the characters in the story. It sort of gives you something to relate to. I called the library today and asked the librarian to save it for me when it comes back in.
I'm going to scream! We watched the latest episode this morning, right up until the last five minutes of the show! What in the world happened?? The Marthas were fabulous, and all looked well, and then...I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet, but what made her make that strange decision? Surely there was room for her and Nichole. Where will she be able to go? I thought she was inspired by the Marthas and decided to join in. But Ken point out that she can't go home, and that red dress will stop her from everything unless she has a post. On another note: I was just getting to understand and like Aunt Lydia. I think the secret with her is to have a baby, then she gets nice.
I picked the book up at the library Tuesday and read it yesterday. I should say I skim read it. It was as bad as I remembered. She spent way too much time describing the surroundings. It was full of run on sentences. It was as though it had been written by a high school girl as a classroom assignment. I'm sure the program is a lot better. It is doubtlessly done by professionals. Did she find her husband and daughter in the program? How about Moira? Is she pregnant by Nick? Or the Commander?
She hasn't found her husband yet, because she hasn't made it out of Giliad. She has seen her daughter, Hannah, twice. The second time, they visited. Much came out of that situation. Moira has found June's husband but I won't go into details here in case anyone reading this ends up wanting to watch it. Nick, not the Commender. And the Commander knows it. I haven't read the book, so I can't compare them, but it sure does sound like the show is better.
