Are You Getting Emails?

I haven't really kept track, but I think I bought this used Dell Optiplex (with XP Pro pre-installed) back in September. If so, then I have had it nearly a year. Ever since I got it, I've been on the internet at least 5 to 6 hours every day, and I go everywhere, including those sites the 'talking heads' warn against as being pits of malware (porn). According to M$ and their legions of volunteer parrots, this PC should have virus, trojans, rootkits, botnets, keyloggers, & etc., yet in nearly a year of surfing I only succeeded in obtaining 3 or 4 PUPs, which was quickly sent to the pound for some euthanasia by Malwarebytes. Until the shrill threats of Microsoft matches up with reality, I will consider that just hot air and propaganda and scare tactics. In other words, business as usual for M$.

And like I said, it should be obvious this problem of not getting email notifications is not limited to me, and I much doubt everyone complaining about this is an XP Pro holdout.

 

If you always got Emails before and you get them no more - somethings amiss

 

None here either for a few days...no notifications of updated threads or posts etc...

 

I checked today and there were zero emails from here. Logged-in here and there were four 'alerts'.

 

oh yes that's exactly how it's been for the last few days... lots of alerts on the forum but no alert by email...

 

Yep, same today! Emails zero from here (Walmart and Target are having no problem getting through). I check in here, and it shows 11 alerts.

 

I'm not overburdening @Ken Anderson with this, it's not important to me. I check this forum every day, so I'm unlikely to miss anything important, so for me, there's no rush to get it fixed...

 

Any advance on the Emails Ken ?

 

I liked getting the PM emails.

Especially times when I'm away from home and out, I don't always check the forum but do my email acct.

 

Yes, I think the e-mails can be very useful too.

 

Oh yes they're useful...but for me personally they're not important..

 

If people are complaining on 'getting' Emails its simple to unsubscribe to them
I have had PMs and been unaware of them, so haven't replied. I now have to keep logging in, just in case

For anyone interested in 'not' receiving Emails, just go on to your 'preferences'
and unclick Email notifications

 

Hi Ken - if its a problem for us to get the Emails - would it be easier if we just got the PM Emails ?
I like to respond to them but I'm unaware of them most times

 

Agree with Patsy...just pm notification is enough...I miss that!!
