Tell you a pet peeve of mine....

My O/H... why does it take him 10 minutes to get out of his car...or even mine for that matter?.. he pulls up, turns the engine off , and god alone knows what he does but it takes him ages to get out of his car. he says he has to unplug things..and put things away... but he never says what these 'things' are.

Even in my car when he's a passenger where there's nothing for him to ''stow away.''.. I pull up, got the seat belt off, engine off, door open and he's like a sloth.. still sitting there .. and I'll get out and open the boot, or the back door to get the shopping out, and he's still just taking his seat belt off...I'll be standing waiting impatiently for him to get out so I can press the key fob lock, before I can unlock the front door to get the shopping in .. or I have to unlock the door, then come back out to lock the car up... irritates the heck outta me... ( and before anyone says it, I know there are a lot worse things in life)...but it's one of my pet peeves..

My hubby was kind of like that too.

My nephew Mike, who incidentally is coming down here from Flagstaff tomorrow (down, as from 7000 feet altitude to 550). When he pulls up, here or anywhere, as we expectantly wait for him to pop out of his car,.....he doesn't! Just as you described! WTH he does for 5 minutes or more, we've never learned. Perhaps unwinds? If he pulled up just as the car caught fire, let's say, would he, or your O/H, exit quickly?

What is, BTW, an "O/H"? In mechanical terms it's used to connotate "Overhang".

You could get a stainless steel bottle, and transfer the water into that, or get a water filter for your house and fill it from the tap--both better options environmentally than throwing away all those unsatisfactory bottles.

I have lots of bottles like that and I used to drink water from the tap but changed over a few years ago.

Think I read our water wasn't that great....filter is too much bother for me.

I'd rather drink the lousy tap water.

I may anyway.tired of carrying those 24 packs of water every few days into the house.

The big filters are not much bother. They get changed every 1 to 5 years, and you can have it professionally done. In fact, if you have an R/O system, I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself. You can also get water delivered to your home by a professional company, but that is more expensive.

Ive had water delivered long ago....no thanks. A pain.

Maybe I'll just buy the big jugs of water and fill one of my bottles...maybe my infuser one..put some lime or lemons or mint or cukes in there...used to do that...it's good!!

Bobby and I have those stainless steel drink cups that have the heavy plastic lid. It keeps stuff cold (or hot) forever ! I can have lemon water in mine at night that I don’t finish, and there are still ice cubes in there the next day.
We have the 32 oz size for cold stuff (we both use lots of ice), and I have one of the 20 oz ones that I use for my cup of morning coffee.
We use a Brita filter for our water, but we used to have one of the ones that went on the faucet, and that was simple to use, and easy to install, @Chrissy Cross .

I'll have to look through my cupboards...I have a whole shelf full of water bottles...probably even have the stainless steel one.

I don't like too cold or too hot though...

    @Don Alaska
Is it true R-O filtration wastes a lot of water in the process?
