It probably has got something to do with the picture format (WEBP) which my software can't decode. Never mind.
I have been reluctant to post in this thread because it initially indicated that one must shop in order to be qualified. My wife shops and I do compliment her on her wonderful findings for doing so, but I do NOT shop. I know what I want, go to a store whether it is Harbor Freight, Walmart or Krogers, then find it and buy it. In a way, one could say that my wife is the quantifier, and I am the qualifier. She sees the store as a whole and scrutinizes the price tags therein, and I only see one or two items within the whole.
@Bobby Cole There might be an existing example of difference in cultural English usage. Having grown up near Chicago, I've learned everyone born there has a slightly different "slant" on definitions and pronunciations. "Shopping" is to us, going for our groceries, always having a list of items, never "browsing" at all. Words having a "double-o", such as roof, or broom, are pronounced with the "O"s having a sound something like "uf", but not quite sounding like "ruff". Frank
How sad.......no browsing........you are missing most all the fun in life (of course, Bobby might not think that).
I think I missed answering this... we don't have Safeway here... When I was a child we did but not for many years!!
Does anybody have a Grocery Outlet store near them? My daughter said she went to one when she moved my grandson into his apt on campus in San Luis Obispo...she said prices are good and they have some interesting items. I do have one here so I'll probably go check it out soon.
Walmart or Albertson's....and often I have my Honey bring a staple home from his job at the small Country market near our home. I've said before that he often brings home freebies from there too. So in a way I shop there too.
I shop with SAFEWAY (VON'S) on line and have the order delivered to my apartment front door for free or under $$10.00. Produce and dairy is perfectly fresh
We live in a small town and have a Giant Eagle as our grocery store. We are fortunate in that there is a super Walmart only about 5 miles from us. Most exciting though is that they just finished putting in a brand spanking new Aldi's about 2 blocks from the Giant Eagle. I am so thrilled with Aldis .. oh the deals they have ! And we have not been unhappy with anything we purchased from them, and have actually found a few favorites and must-haves !
