I have been using my Copper Chef Cookware for nine months now. I have to say I'm immensely pleased with it. I have cooked bacon to perfection, fried eggs, grilled chicken, pork chops and hamburger patties, and sautéed vegetables in it. Nothing sticks. It wipes clean quickly and easily. I usually use a little pat of butter when I cook meats or vegetables in it because I like the taste but that's not necessary to prevent sticking. I would give it a five star rating.
Shirley - I invested in some about 6 months ago and feel exactly the same way you do. Where has this stuff been all my life ?! I did have a learning curve with it though in the way it heats up .. I did scorch a few things at first but I just love these and encourage everyone to at least try 1 piece.
Copper is a great conductor of heat so you would get uniform cooking. Is the pans you use all copper or just copper bottom ?
@Shirley Martin Not familiar with Copper Chef, but think I've seen them, the cooking surface looks coppery, but also looking real closely, do you see very tiny shiny "specks"? I THINK, not sure, these surfaces are a ceramic coating of some kind, ceramic achieving it's wonders due to it's extreme hardness. We bought a fry pan about a year ago, brand-named Frigidaire, of all things, it's surface is pure white, ceramic being plainly called out on the packaging. We like it because it's "lop-sided", the wall across from the handle being higher than adjacent to the handle. This facilitates flipping patties over. I've used it almost daily since new, and it's finally beginning to show some fine scratches, and tends to stick foods more now. We liked it so well, we bought a back-up shortly after getting it. Outlet Store at the Mall, no guarantee of constant stocking of any item. Frank
We bought a Copper Chef on sale for $10, and it soon became our favorite pan, as it was non-stick and cleaned easily. Our son gave us another, larger with a lid and all, and we use that too. I still like the old cast iron for many things, though, as it is quite non-stick, and I can use metal utensils on it without care.
There are so many being advertised right now. I've been reading reviews and the copper chef doesn't fair as well as others. Blue diamond seems to be the favorite. But your success with yours means more to me than reviews I read online.
"Be aware that it is not actually copper, and its price is seems high for a single pan made of aluminum. Although the name “Copper Chef” would imply to most consumers that pan is made of copper, the product FAQ clearly states that “The pan is copper colored, coated aluminum with a steel induction plate.” If you were hoping to find an actual copper pot, this is not the product for you." "Copper Chef will provide a generally positive cooking experience to those who have realistic expectations." http://www.epic.reviews/products/copper-chef-reviews/
