I'm with Hal. No stinking Apple Watch for me, at least not until it can completely replace my iPhone. As long as I have to have both of them, I may as well carry my iPhone and skip the cost and bother of the watch. One thing I have enjoyed after retiring from EMS is to no longer have to wear a watch, and all of the bands that I have seen do make them look like they're intended for children. They look like the cheap watches that the jewelry stores don't bother to put behind glass.

That’s the way I felt but now that I have one I love it!

It just compliments the iPhone. I have that with me when I’m out but at home I don’t carrry it around so the Iwatch tracks my steps in the house, makes me move more and I have a more accurate number of steps in a day

I also didn’t have my iPhone on me at Curves so that was never added to my step total etc

I’m very fussy and I don’t even notice I’m wearing it!

    So there!!!!

I already had two telescopes but the other day I saw one and could not resist it so I bought an Apple telescope.
It pairs with my Apple Watch series 2 (and others as well but mine is a 2) and my Ipad and phone.
All I have to do is place the telescope out into my back yard where the tree coverage isn’t so drastic and tell Siri what I wish to look at.
The telescope automatically seeks out the proper coodinance and bingo, there it is on my phone and Ipad. I can focus by using the up and down keys on the watch app and even program it for tracking.
The Apple Watch app also allows me to take pictures of whatever I see and also download them to the Ipad or ICloud.
I haven’t set the UFO alarm yet because I do not care for the vibration on my wrist and let’s face it, E.T just doesn’t like to be photographed nor found for that matter. That said, the directions do say to be careful because aliens might be able to track it and home in on it.
Can’t wait for the series 11 to come out because I understand that it connects directly to Mt. Palamar and the Hubble as well.

Naw, I’m only having a bit of fun and the telescope doesn’t exist anywhere but in my brain but who knows, someone from Apple may read this and suggest it to Tim Cook !
The Apple Watch has so many possibilities that adding such a thing isn’t beyond the tech that is already there.

I didn't know where else to really put this...just thought it was neat.

Just happened to get on find my iPhone to see if my daughter was up yet....

Had it in a diffrent view I guess and it shows it's still dark in Hawaii.

That's her iPhone in the dark and I'm assuming the two in California are my grandson and of course me.

No Yvonne...I'm not averse to technology!

It's just that since I retired as a Boeing Lab Test Engineer 20 years ago. I have never even worn a watch!

I keep my Timex on the dresser, but never put it on. I just use it as a "time-shifter" when transferring the exact time from our Atomic Clock to my Clock Radio, so the alarm will sound precisely at 6 AM, 7 days a week.

Here's a shot of my Home Electronics Lab, where I'm set up to calibrate the right-ascension tracking rate of a Telescope.

If you wished for “normal” people on this forum you should have it written it in the rules and called it Normal Seniors Only. :)

72 years ago, in 1946, Dick Tracy began using his 2-way Wrist Radio to communicate with Headquarters from anywhere in NYC.

Sure, it was fiction, but it was forward-looking Technology in 1946!

Today, my Apple Watch really impressed me ! I was outside and picking up one of the potted plants to bring it inside, and as I bent over, I stumbled; but was able to catch myself before falling.
My watch alerted me, and I looked to see what it was sending me an alert about.
It said that it looked like I had fallen, and did I need help ?
My choices were yes I need help, or no, Ive fallen but I am okay, which is the one I chose, obviously. I was really impressed with how sensitive that this watch is, and how fast it reacted. If I had actually needed help, I could have gotten help right away. If you are unable to respond at all (fall and pass out) then the watch just calls emergency and also calls your backup emergency contacts.
