Hi, i love to read but my eyes are not so good anymore. My doughter tell me about a software who can read for me. i research it in google but i cant find a free one. any advice? its have to be also very simple because im not very good in computer. thx in advance
First of all, welcome to the forum. I'm not sure what applications you are looking for so forgive me if I suggest something that doesn't apply or meet your needs. I use Macs, and the Mac OS includes a fairly good text to speech feature, one that comes with the OS and doesn't require installing anything else. I had Dragon Speak, which was fairly expensive, but the one that comes with the Mac is just as good, if not better, so I don't use it anymore. I don't know for sure, but I am pretty sure that the Microsoft Windows OS has something similar. The speech might sound a little robotic but they have improved that aspect of it considerably over the years. There are probably third-party solutions available too. If you're interested in reading books, you can get a Kindle to do that for you. I think all the Kindles do that, but I'm not sure of that. I don't think every book that you get for Kindle has that capability built in, however. I know that this feature exists at least in some Kindles but I have never used it, so I don't know much about it, I'm afraid.
Hi, thank u for your answer. I have a Kindle but i cant read even the big letters anymore. My laptop has windows but im not very good in computers. Anyway i dont wanna spend so much money. Since yesterday i download already 4 different softwares. Right now i try http://www.ttssoft.org/text-to-speech-software/ . Until now it looks like it is for free and i like the sound of the voice. It doesnt sounds like a robot. Im still thankfull for any other advice. My budget is around 30bucks.
You shouldn't have to buy anything. Here are a couple of videos on setting up speech-to-text and text-to-speech in Windows 10. I haven't used Windows much in years but these might be of help. There are others, which you could find by searching for "Windows 10 text-to-speech" or something along those lines in a search engine or directly on Youtube. If you have another version of Windows, there are videos on them as well.
I know the Notebook I bought comes with text to speech...but I don't much about using it as I don't need it yet.
