I remember 9. Some of the others we may not have had in rural areas where I grew up.

    1. Blackjack chewing gum: I still buy it at Cracker Barrel sometimes.
    2. Wax coke-shaped bottles with colored sugar water: Hated them.
    3. Candy Cigarettes: Nothing special, but yeah.
    4. Soda pop machines that dispensed bottles: Of course, even the ones that were vertical.
    5. Coffee shops with tableside jukeboxes: I was in one somewhere in the past few years.
    6. Home milk delivery in glass bottled with cardboard stoppers: We had a cow, but I remember when they were delivered in cities.
    7. Party telephone lines: Until after I was in high school.
    8. Newsreels before the movie: We weren't allowed to go to theaters when I was a kid.
    9. P.F. Flyers: Remember them, but never had any.
    10. Butch Wax: Nope.
    11. Telephone numbers with a word prefix: No, except on television; but I can go one better. Our first number was short-short-long, on a crank telephone.
    12. Howdy Doody: We didn't have a television while it was on, but I have seen the show in reruns.
    13. 45 RPM Records: I always thought the 45s were a girl thing but I remember them.
    14. S&H Green Stamps: They still had an S&H Green Stamp redemption center in Fullerton when I moved to California.
    15. Metal ice trays with lever: I think I have one around.
    16. Mimeograph paper: Yes.
    17. Blue Flashbulbs: Yes
    18. Roller skate keys: Nope. We didn't even have paved roads, let alone roller skating rinks.
    19. Drive-in Movie Theaters: Yeah. We were allowed to go to those. One just opened near here a few years ago.

Think number nine is the Banda Machine to us.That freshly inked paper was strangely satisfying.Extensively used by me before schools got photocopiers.

I remember ALL of those !

I also remember our phone number from back then .. it was Mohawk 7.

I also remember the telephone operators who would take the time to help a child with little things like homework.

People were friendly back then and they cared about each other.
