During the interview the "main kid" had with Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show, he said it started with the school boys trying to drown out the vulgarities being shouted at them by the Back Israelites, who I guess are trans-ethnic and trans racial, that were vulgar and profane. The boys were using their school cheer to combat the epithets. Mr. Phillips, who was apparently attending a Native American conference of some sort that coincided with the Right-to-Life event that was being supported by the school group. Phillips at first was taken to be encouraging the boys in their chants by keeping time with his drum then became aggressive for some reason. The boys stood there as they believed that turning their backs on Phillips or walking away would be taken as being disrespectful to a Native adult. I have read all kinds of things about his military service, but he was separated as a private, so whatever he did, he was not successful at it or was in trouble a lot with other troops.
My younger brother was an alcoholic who was not allowed to reenlist, yet he was discharged honorably with the equivalent rank of a corporal so yeah, Phillips clearly wasn't considered an asset. He is recorded, on an earlier incident, saying that he doesn't like to talk about Vietnam but when he returned (from Vietnam), he was spit upon. Unless he traveled to Vietnam for some reason after being discharged, he was never in Vietnam.
Covington Catholic High School finally apologizes to the students and parents. They were taken in by the Main Street Fake news and now they can see the truth.
Another odd thing about this is that, if you remember, when the annoying kid who pretended to be a Parkland survivor, and his friends were in front of the cameras 24-hours a day, anyone who dared even disagree with him was roundly criticized by the media as being insensitive, and anyone who went so far as to insult them had to resign any positions that they held, and people were losing their jobs over having verbally attacked a child just because he spoke out over something that was important to him. Yet, because these kids were wearing MAGA hats, they were fair game for the most vile of criticism. Very few people in the media (including Fox) mentioned or criticized the black group who were calling them all sorts of nasty things, and they were completely unprovoked, from all accounts. Plus, these kids were much younger than the Parkland kids. Even after it had been pretty much determined that these kids were guilty only of being Catholic, attending a pro-life rally, and wearing MAGA hats, much of the media continued to attack them, even so far as to suggest that they were being aggressive by not running from the black and Indian groups. Yet, I don't think I've heard anyone on the left acknowledge the huge double standard.
