Odd how quiet things can get around here sometimes.............. '"How Donald Trump Lost More Than Just the Shutdown It was the first battle in the war between Donald Trump and the newly empowered Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. At stake were the fate of immigration reform, border security and government spending during the Trump presidency, and political clout with both the Republican and Democratic grassroots. And there was no doubt who won and who lost." http://time.com/5513459/donald-trump-nancy-pelosi-shutdown-congress/ It was also unusually quiet after the November elections when no one here, including yours truly, tackled this event: "Judge declines to certify North Carolina's 9th Congressional District race amid fraud investigation" https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/22/politics/north-carolina-harris-mccready/index.html I get it. Silence is golden.
So he lost to the speaker. She's now got until Feb 15 to do what's right for the country. Walls are not immoral as she likes to say from behind her walled mansion.
She doesn’t have a walled mansion...she may have a fenced yard like millions of other people do but that meme Of that high wall in front of a mansion wasn’t even her house. This is how fake news gets spread. I really wish people would check before posting something that’s totally false...I hate dishonesty on both sides. And then I tend not to believe even the truth from that person. I don’t like Pelosi but I hate fake news even more.
Fake news, Al. The walled home purported to be the Speaker's home is NOT. Her true home has no walls. This has already been covered in another thread.
I have never paid much attention to Nancy until this go around. Must say I was proud of her for standing up to the gangster-in-chief. If only we had a Nancy-like leader in the Senate.
She meant the particular wall Trump wants, not all walls through all time for different nations. She is being quite specific.
