Waffles & Chicken- Never Heard Of This Meal Before, Soul Food?

I have a few relatives who emigrated to Canada, way back in the 50's... there's a lot of Scots in Canada, and Australia, more than the USA...

 

As an afterthought...dya think they might have been talking about rolled Gammon ( ham).... as I said we always called bacon ham...

 

I have never had chicken and waffles. I'm not a fan of maple syrup so that kind of ruins it for me.

However .. I do enjoy a wee bit of honey on my fried chicken ..and I like a biscuit once in a while so maybe I should revisit the possibility of this dish .. just with some honey rather than syrup.

 

I don't like Maple syrup either, never have it on anything.

 

Chicken with bones, topping waffles. I didn't realize they served it like that.

I've seen seafood stews with mussels in shells. Not sure how you would eat that.
