I have an affinity for Cornwall, as I grew up loving Upper Peninsula pasties, and they came to the UP with people who immigrated there from Cornwall.
Thanks for posting that , @Holly Saunders. Much of what I know about Cornwall, I've learned from Doc Martin.
Yes I can see how you would... I went right off Martin Clunes when he cut me up on the road one day, nearly knocked me into a field....
That was beautiful, @Holly Saunders. Beautiful scenery, beautiful music, beautifully done. I think we just hit that old language barrier again. Somebody cut you up and knocked you into a field???????
Martin Clunes the star of the show ''Doc Martin'' which is the tv shot in Cornwall.. cut right in front of me when i was driving , pushing me off the road, and almost down a ditch into a field.. I skidded, and fought to keep the car from skidding onto it's side, and just prevented it from breaking through a 6 foot wire fence into the field. It shook me up.. and I've hated him ever since
We would say, "Cut in front of me and nearly ran me into a field." Of course, that is the proper way to say it.
LOL... well he didn't cut in front of me,,, he cut me up... which means he pushed his way into the side of me to get in front....
I am sorry that happened to you, @Holly Saunders. Perhaps you need to drive a pickup or a suburban-type vehicle. Most folks don't push them around. I guess you could write to a newspaper and make an issue of it if you have evidence that it was him. Did you ever meet Richard Briers? (Different show, of course)
I never met Richard Briers..no ... which is a pity because he was one of my favourite actors.. believe me I was absolutely sure it was martin Clunes... it was a few years ago...and we had just left a TV & Film Broadcasting convention.. I didn't know him personally but at the time he was in a show called Men Behaving Badly.. ( and believe me he did in real life)>..
