I saw it shortly after it came out and wasn't impressed, but I don't remember much about it. Maybe it was over-hyped.
Amount wise, there isn't that much sex. It's about two very different men, neither of whom gives a damn about anything but themselves. Jon Voight is a wannabe Lothario from the sticks who enjoys looking at his cowboy self in the mirror. Hoffman is a down-and-out street hustler living as a squatter in a cold-water flat in New York. The main theme of the movie is how they learn to care about each other, someone other than themselves. A great movie.
I haven't seen the movie but did listen to the theme song to hear Toots play the harmonica. On the album that came out somebody else played harmonica. Don't remember who he was.
@Bill Boggs you are correct sir, Toots played the Harmonica for the movie, but Tommy Reilly was used on the Soundtrack Album. Toots will always be the 'best' to ever play the instrument in my opinion.
May not like it?...I saw in in the Theater when it was released, Nancy, and I have my own copy!!! Hal
