You may watch "The Oscars", but I always prefer to watch the AWARDS given to the best in all the movie categories by the ACADEMY of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which are known as the "Academy Awards". Harold
We will be watching both the Red Carpet and the Awards tomorrow night. Recording it as well. Actually, my wife spent some time in Hollywood, before I met her, and was an Extra in Harrison Ford's Air Force One, Tommy Lee Jones's Volcano, Drew Barrymore's Never Been Kissed and a few commercials. Want to see just how far Bohemian Rhapsody movie goes.
The ratings have dropped so much that ABC is having to give guarantees of market-share to attract advertisers. Nobody wants to advertise their products and services on a program that almost nobody watches.
There is always a pronounced and prideful "gay" bias on this forum. I see it as nothing more than pre judging, and whether it's rationalized by the Bible, your upbringing, or whatever, it's mean of spirit. I've enjoyed the conversations. Why in hell would you want to see "how far" something goes that revolts you? Adios amigos, Mikhail
That's because people who aren't comfortable with something are as welcome here as those who are. If there is one thing I am not comfortable with, it's political correctness because it's used to shut people up, and to limit conversation.
I've always enjoyed watching the Oscars even though I never or seldom see any of the movies. So far as TV goes I guess thart's abput as good as it gets.
@Lulu Moppet, I admire your referring to the event as the "Academy Awards" rather then the "Oscars"! Good for you! Hal
"That's because people who aren't comfortable with something are as welcome here as those who are. If there is one thing I am not comfortable with, it's political correctness because it's used to shut people up, and to limit conversation." It is political correctness, at its backwards best, or worst. IMHO
I'm confused. I didn't see any reference to gay in this thread, or "how far something goes." Was something deleted?
