Some of the changes I would like to see in the U S: School Safety. Not just preventing casualties, but fixing the root cause. Zero tolerance for any type of aggression or repetitive/ structured harassment. A consumer protection organization with the power of the NRA. Congress Limit terms for House of Reps - 2 term limit (4 years total). Senators - 1 term limit (6 years total). Review all tax records before they go into office and for ten years after taking office. Completely dismantle their present “arrangement” with lobbyists.
Term limits for Congress were considered by the founders and rejected as unnecessary. They didn't think the voters would tolerate professional politicians--they were wrong on this one. The founders gave us much more credit for smarts than we deserve, although voters were smarter in a previous century. John Dewey formulated the idea of using the public schools to shape society. Further changes in the 1970s have so dumbed-down the population that nonsensical ideas, such as trains to Australia and eliminating all ungulates now receive serious consideration in the public press.
Term limits for Congress. Reps get 2 terms Send get 2 terms No benefits of any kind for serving in Congress.
I'd like to see America become "One Nation Under God" again with prayer and Bible reading allowed in schools and everywhere once again. Two term limits for all and a law that let's us fire our Officials if they aren't doing their job. No more abortions. No more "perks" for Presidents, etc. once they are no longer in Office.
All of this plus those term limits .. we the people need to regain control of our country. On a side note ... I wanted to share that the V.A. facility where we go for my husband's care has instituted a wonderful thing. It began about the time Trump took the office of President of the United States. At 9 am every morning .. all things stop .. over the loudspeaker a request is made for everyone to stand and face the flag and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. There are flags everywhere .. small ones and large ones. At 9am every morning all persons inside that facility gladly rise .. hands over heart .. and loudly and proudly recite the pledge .. and when it is done there are many who say Amen.
I know - think it was going 'pear shaped' all along Tom, the way Brexit has been handled with delay after delay makes me very suspicious
I'd like to see the whole lot of 'em thrown out and a bunch of cute chimpanzees brought in to take their places. The chimps couldn't do a worse job and they'd be one heck of a lot more fun to watch.
@Tom Galty - we've played right into their hands haven't we Our trump card was 'no deal' and what do we do - say 'no deal' is not acceptable ! Whereas, making 'them' think no deal 'was' the option, would have put us in a very good bargaining position with them They will see us as a laughing stock and of course they're right ! They know how to play the game and we're playing right into their hands
