Jump rope chant: Cinderella Dressed In yella went upstairs to kiss a fella made a mistake kissed a snake how many doctors did it take?
This was a chant to determine from a group who would be selected to be "it" or eliminated from the group. With each word, the chanter would move in sequence to another member of the group standing in a circle, usually touching their extended hand: "My mother and your mother were hanging out clothes. My mother hit your mother right in the nose. What color was the blood?" The person touched would then select a color, which the chanter would spell out, touching a different person's hand in sequence with each letter and then word, for example: "R-E-D spells 'red,' and out you do GO!" (Now you can see the violence inherent in the system!).
You had to clap for this one... Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack All dressed in black, black, black With silver buttons, buttons, buttons All down her back, back, back She asked her mother, mother, mother For fifty cents, cents, cents To see the elephant, elephant, elephant Jump the fence, fence fence They jumped so high, high, high They touched the sky, sky, sky And didn't come back, back, back Till the fourth of July, July, July

"Engine engine, Number Nine, Going down Chicago Line, If the train goes off the track, Do you want your money back?" (The child then responds "yes" or "no," to which the response for "yes" would be...) "Y--E--S spells 'yes,' and out you do...GO!"
To the tune of "Rule Brittania": "Rule Brittania with Marmalade and Jam, Three Chinese Crackers up your bum-hole Bam....Bam...Bam!" An Englishman named Geoffrey DeHelsby told me that one! (Sorry, Holly...) Hal
