Gosh, I didn’t know that this thread was about senior matching. Gee, if you’re asking me out, let’s just stay friends.
Oddly I use these all the time but never hear them from others: Hissie fit Hankering to Stove up Y'all Reckin Fixin to Having a spell Sick the dog on him Young uns Rarin to go Springing Coming down 2 bits many more I am sure... need any info on them ask, my daily talk
Hissie fit Rarin to go Those in Bold we use here... I was always fascinated by 2 Bits ( if that means money)... ever after seeing Rod steigers' Character Jud Fry, bidding '' ...and 2 bits'' at Auction , in the movie Oklahoma...
Gallivant ...is the only one we use here, and I don't think the young use it at all... only us oldies..
Not only is the word nearly gone, the very act of asking a lady’s father for permission to court his daughter is wayyyyy gone.
Overusing "Sorry". In stores, there are more shoppers these days who are disgustingly over-mannerly, saying "Sorry, Sir" to me if they should happen to step in front of me while looking for something in the aisles. I straighten them out immediately, by saying: "You've done nothing wrong...there's no need for "Sorry", to which they'll usually reply with a weak smile "Sorry, Sir". Maybe they feel that if they didn't act so mannerly, they might arouse a defensive reaction in me, which might trigger a Terrorist response, because I'm tall, and usually wear a theatening "look" like Lee Van Cleef. I don't know... Hal
"How's about" (How's about lettin' me drive? "Gotcher" (I've gotcher rifle) "Jeez oo Wee" "Five'll getcha Ten" "Lan Sakes" "Damn Straight" Hal
