Smollett tried to set this up as a hate crime. It is a hate crime but against white Trump supporter this should be tried as a hate crime now.
Well not if you look at the legal definition of a hate crime. Being a Trump Supporter is not a protected class!
"Hate Crime" is a repellent idea, since you are being punished for how you think. As the head of the NAACP said up here recently, you should be judged by your actions not your words or thoughts. The crimes should be judged on the crime committed, not what you think of the person you are attacking. What would happen to those murderers, both male and female, who murder their spouses and significant others because they love them and their SI has taken up with someone else? Would that then be classed as a "Love Crime"?

Charges dropped, and the record expunged by the State's Attorney who initially recused herself from the case as she had a conflict of interest. She stepped back in and demonstrated that if you are a Liberal in Illinois, you can invent a "Hate Crime" in an attempt to discredit your political enemies and get away with it.
Interesting that Smollett forfeited his bond money. If they dropped charges, how does that happen? This gets "smellier" with every detail. Hopefully there will be federal charges against this loser or I am losing total faith in the criminal justice system. Can you say "corrupt"????

The latest Jussie Smollett story came along after the Democrat state attorney decided to drop all charges against him, despite having ample evidence to convict and, conveniently, Trump's exoneration by the Mueller report is out of the news cycle while everyone goes on and on about Jussie Smollett, a man most people had never heard of before he inserted himself into the news cycle.
