    That was kathy Switzer, She was the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, and some crazy nuttcase guy attacked her in the middle of the race because she was female .

    I remember this, I was only 12 years old, but I was doing athletics at school then, running the 100 & 400 metres, , and my gym teacher (female) at the time, told us the story to encourage all of us girls and confirm that we could be just as good as any man....

    @Holly Saunders.
    Brilliant Holly. Silly 60s discrimination. Did you run as an adult?
    Thanks for kicking off the new quiz. You wanna post one?

    My wife is in the final work preparing a Sunday Mother's Day feast for us two, no mothers present.

    Sweet-sour cabbage, roast pork, and Czech dumplings, which my Mother instructed her to prepare. The usual test for done-ness is to bounce a dumpling against the wall; if rebound is good, it's done! :)

    I will run towards the dining table when summoned!

    It's Alfred Hitchcock, but what am I supposed to guess in addition?

    One of the best movies he made IMO was "Family Plot". One of Bruce Dern's first appearances, possibly also William Devane's......who was as sinister as any could be, a smile while probing one's back with a stiletto.

    Was that the Hitchcock movie with the actual real lions? I think it was "Roar" or something like that. I don't believe that movie was released in the USA for some reason.

    It's Alfred Hitchcock serving tea to Leo the seventh lion serving as a mascot for the Hollywood film studio MGM. (Sorry, googled that which I should have resisted. I know. But then again I know so little.):rolleyes:

    That lion is taking a chance assuming that chair will support his 500+pound weight!
