The Man Who Knew Too Much, with Peter Lorre, 1934 ?

Alfred Hitchcock redid his 1934 film in 1956, casting Doris Day and Jimmy Stewart. I saw this one in the theater with my family when it came out. I was 10 and too young to "get it." My father sang "that song" endlessly afterwards. ;)

No. Then I will. This was not one of Hitch's best imho.

I had to Google Mildred Natwick. Is that cheating? The Trouble With Harry?

Oh, we've got another one already. I'll pass then.

If you think that Hitch's stories of suspense and death are a little too dark and tense for most tastes, you’re not alone. Even Hitchcock couldn't bring himself to watch his own movies.

He said in an interview in 1963, “I’m frightened of my own movies. I never go to see them. I don’t know how people can bear to watch my movies.”

GAS is a (very) short story written by Alfred Hitchcock when he was 20 years-old, in 1919.
