I sure do! WOW! I haven't thought about those little things in decades. I still have some 33 1/3, but haven't had any 45s in a long time!
Vinyl sells quite well on eBay. Our neighbor, across the street from us, is an auctioneer, so we sell a lot of stuff for him on eBay, and sometimes buy things from him that we know will sell at a profit, and vinyl does well, as long as it's in good shape.
I remember them too. Luckily others posted first so I now remember what it is. I didn't know they sell on e-bay. Our collection went to a local buyer who said they were all too use to resale, so he graciously said he'd take them though and I left them with him. Oh well live and learn...didn't make a penny that day.
I had one of them when I was younger! When my youngest daughter decided to be a writer, she asked me to find her an old typewriter for her birthday. I naively went forth in search of one, and needless to say, couldn't find one anywhere! She had to settle for a modern word processor. I miss the old typewriters. I wish I had kept mine.
You can still buy new manual typewriters, and a whole lot of electric ones. For example, here's one on Amazon.
Record players and Vinyl records are making a HuGE revival here....of course the Record players are now digital and can cook your dinner for you as well virtually as is modern technology...but they look the part, and people are now paying lots of money for Vinyl records...old and new!! A few years ago I threw out all my old Albums thinking that due to the new CD technology...no-one would ever want Vinyl again, and of course further confirmed when even CD's lost their popularity and everyone had media players etc ..what a fool, but I never guessed that something as basic as Vinyl would ever make a come back ....however I still have every 45 from my teenage years in a box...and they are still very playable. This was my first record player...a Blue and grey dansette......I always wished I'd had a red one, they were the coolest when I was a teen ..LOL
That's a fancier one that usual, but it's a hot iron, right? We had a bunch of them around the house when I was growing up. They were no longer used but they retained heat, so were placed around the house. Cast iron is a very good heat retainer, and having cast iron figurines, especially larger objects, can help keep rooms warm after the fire goes out, and are helpful when using wood-burning stoves, in particular, that might go out during the night. I have been collecting cast iron stuff for our camp for that reason.
They were never in our house Ruby, we had electric irons, but I still see very similar ones in Vintage and Antique shops, and people buy them to use as doorstops... very cool!!
LOL Ken, I'm not sure. It looks like an old iron, but what would be the purpose of the gears? Here is where I found it: https://www.google.com/search?q=vin...KAhUKWBoKHc-ZAvQQsAQIKQ#imgrc=EoFG2mN35_HR3M:
