I have noticed more things made in the USA too. I don't know if they are new production or if the Chinese substitute is not available. I bought some electrical fixtures made in the U.S. that were actually cheaper than the Chinese product.

Some of them have been posted in this forum already. Your problem is that you don't read anything that conflicts with your liberal mindset, and I think I am being kind when I use those words. It's funny how the same people who believe that someone should be paid a living wage for serving hamburgers at McDonald's simultaneously insists on being able to buy cheap stuff from overseas, made with slave labor.

I often wonder why the Mexican people aren't sick of all the illegals trudging through their country. I suppose since they know they aren't the "ultimate destination" they aren't concerned, but it seems to me it must strain resources.

What's your point? Are those still not injection-molded in an AMERICAN facility?

    Well said Bob.
Here’s the problem as I see it. An opinion is just about the same as a theory. Most of us know that a theory is the first step to scientific discovery but until the initial opinion or theory is proofed, it still remains a theory.
In order to provide the necessary proofs, one must work and as we have seen from the welfare roles, a person’s desire to hire cheap labor from Mexico and bring in illegal votes to vote for them, Democrats do not like to work which brings us right back to the easy to get....opinion or theory.

The production may be automated but a person has to maintain the machine. A person has to drive the truck to take the materials to and from the factory. A person has to deliver the product to the stores. There are multiple jobs involved in getting the product to the final purchaser. All these people pay taxes; city, county, state and federal. They spend their wages at businesses that pay their employees. The company pays taxes, city, county, state and federal.

All that money stays here instead of going to China. Sounds good to me.

Shirley, My point was that the jobs that have been sent overseas are thelabor intensive jobs. There is no incentive with heavily automated products for offshoring. Warehousing, transportation, packaging are accomplished domestically, as they are no matter where a product is made. Labor and environmental concerns are the only reason industry offshores production.

But if it's made here, all the money stays here.

I'm not arguing. I'm just saying that I hope President Trump's tariffs on Chinese made products, will cause more companies to begin manufacturing in the US again.
