I have not read it all but will later. https://www.christianpost.com/news/...ty-and-quits-deacon-claims-he-had-affair.html Is Joel Osteen till going strong?
Have never heard of him either, but we do watch, on my wife's laptop, John Hagee on Sunday morning. Sometimes we also will watch Joyce Meyer. Actually, I prefer watching Joyce because she combines religion with physiology whereas John Hagee absolutely loves to yell at his congregation. Joyce doesn't do that.
I just paged through a list of a hundred of the highest paid pastors and the only ones I've heard of were ones that I didn't think highly of, like Rick Warren. I like listening to Alistair Begg or Charles Stanley when I come across them on the radio but I'd prefer a small church and a pastor who may not be dynamic, but who is genuine.
I've never heard of David Gass, either. I'm not a fan of any of the mega churches, scooping in the millions for their own personal fortunes. Who doesn't remember Jim and Tammy, Jimmy Swaggart, etc. Disgusting charlatans. As for Joel Osteen, he showed his true colors (and Christian spirit) during Hurricane Harvey when he refused to let people who had nowhere to go due to flooding into his fancy church. Great guy. Seems like I read recently that he is "grooming" his son to take over the empire.
I'm not a fan of any church but just posted for FYI as many probably are. For me, it's Science of Mind all the way and no church needed to attend. You either get the principles or you don't. And then there is living them. I wonder what the SOM people are saying about the President. Something like "part of the plan". Supposedly there is a reason for everything happening, but some I have a hard time with. Perhaps we have to go thru this trump world for the next chapter. Lessons of Life.
I'm talking about SOM in this post and what they would say about Tremp. Sorry I got a little OT as I know no one else does!!!! Wonder more and more if members really read other's posts.
As stated, I had never heard of this guy before and won't be wasting a lot of time with him. I suspect that mental illness plays into it, somehow. Here is a response from someone who has given it more thought. -- I Must Decrease
You weren't talking about anything in this thread until you decided to bring Trump into it. In fact, you said you hadn't even read the article that you posted a link to. Your opening post includes little more than a link and a question about Joel Osteen. The link you posted was about someone who you, no doubt, believed (or wanted) to be representative of Christianity, but whom few people had ever even heard of until he decided to renounce Christianity. Trump didn't enter into it.
Do you watch any tv Ministries? My wife watches John Hagee almost every Sunday morning. He delivers his Message pretty loud and has no problem saying what he thinks and what he states the Bible says. I think he is the loudest Pastor I've ever heard. And, his son does the same. We use to go to a local Non-Denominational church here, but too many people were coming to church sick. Coughing and sneezing. As for me, I like Joyce Meyer. She combines psychology with the Bible. I also use to watch Dr. Fredrick Price in his church in Los Angeles.
