Oakmont Elevator & Electric Wheel Chairs

Living at Assisted Living should not be Injurious To One’s Health (a bit of Humor)

Oakmont might wish to have a class on Wheel Chair Safety & Ettiquette.

I observe some of the Electric Wheel Chairs being driven in a aggressive manner and causing minor collision with other wheel chairs /walkers and elevator doors.

I am convinced that the recent elevator problems could be avoided if residents would be more patient in boarding and limited the number of walkers, wheel chairs/people and equipment for one trip.

Good heavens; road rage at the senior center. :D Maybe they need to install some traffic signs, Lon.

Just from the experience of facing some of the folks on the store provided electric carts at a grocery or Walmart, I can only imagine how impatient and or rude people can get when there are a bunch of them in a relatively small area.
I have had to dodge them, I’ve been hit from behind, struggled to go around them and even heard a few curses coming from very belligerent people who drive them.

Nope, I want nothing to do with a home where the name of the game is wheelchairs and electric carts. I fear I would have tire marks running down my back within a couple of days.

When I use one of the electric shopping carts at Walmart, I'm totally courteous. I've actually had folks say "thank you" for be courteous to them.

Think of the health benefits of out running a wheel chair & great vision check spotting an electric cart or electric wheel chair bearing down on you. Or the silver lining in knowing you don't need either of those to get around.
