    My avatar always falls over. Ken, or anyone know how I can get it to stand upright?

    Maybe you should just find one that looks the same in any direction, @Sheldon Scott ? That is just too funny !
    But you DO need to change that one for sure......... a tipped over outhouse is a very bad thing !

    Here is one that should smell better, and can go any side up.

    Look at the top right corner of the page where your name is at, @Hal Pollner .
    Click on that and it opens a little box of profile options. One of them, partways down on the left side, is avatar.
    Just click on that and you can add an avatar.

    You can also go to your profile page from there if you see the little link for that right at the top of the box when you open it. Just about any changes that you want to make can be done from that little box because there is a list of anything you might want to add or change.

    If you want someone to see that you are referring to them, you can use the @ sign and then their name, and it will send an alert to that person that they should check that post. When you start to type their name, (@name) a little box will open up that shows the name, and you just choose which person (if there is more than one person with a similar name on the forum).

    I don't want you to think that I'm ignoring you, @Hal Pollner, so I am replying, but @Yvonne Smith has answered the question as well as I could. Placing your cursor over your profile in the upper right of the page, or click on your username in the upper right, and you will see two columns of options. Second from the bottom, in the left column, is one for "Avatar" - that's the place. Click it and you will given an option to upload an avatar.

    Thanks, Ken...but I'm going to go without an Avatar, as I don't care for the restrictive circular format.

    @Hal Pollner
    I dislike it also, for the reason it chopped off my legs in the original image.......

    Although this still works, these instructions were for an earlier version of the forum software. There is now a shortcut. When you place your cursor over your profile, in the upper right of the page, the first column of options now includes one that takes you directly to "Avatar." Then click "Choose File" and find the photo or image that you want to replace your avatar with.

    In the event that anyone here is not using an Avatar because they don't want to use their own photo (you don't have to; in fact, you don't even have to use a photo), this site - ThisPersonDoesNotExist.Com - uses AI graphics to display a different photo of someone who does not exist every time the page is refreshed.

    The whole forum is prettier when you have an avatar. It can be a photo of yourself, of a comic book character, a flower, or whatever you want, but your posts will look nicer if there's something there.

    There are sites where you can custom make them for free, which is what I did. It has so many choices of features, you can even get it relatively close to what you look like.
