I do have a vague memory of that quote but, for the life of me, I can't remember the program. Maybe I'll have to look for an episode on YouTube.
Space family Robinson/ Lost in Space...I loved that but then I was only a kid in the 60's.......Dr Zachary Smith used to scare the crap outta me LOL>.. Bewitched... Green Acres.. Beverly Hillbillies... Laverne & Shirley... The Dick Van Dyke Show... Ben Casey Dr Kildare .. I'm trying to think of the American shows we got back then that my mum watched .... obviously we had our own home grown shows too... Double your money.. Take your pick... This is you life Benny Hill show Z Cars... The Sweeney... The Duchess of Duke street... ..to name just a very few, and all so dated now...
I watched all of those American shows.. Had a pimply faced crush on Elizabeth Montgomery. I never took to Space family Robinson. As for the UK shows..of which Australia purchased quite a few ..the ZCars spin off Softly Softly. Gideon's Way and Dixon of Dock Green among them. You have not mentioned perhaps two of the best Brit shows of the 60s.. The Avengers and The Prisoner. I rewatched every Avengers episode a couple of years ago.. this certainly has not dated.. John Steed and Emma Peel rule! There was also a brilliant 70s crime/mystery series called Thriller. Did you see this.
Mr. Ed - a favourite, still is Did you ever see 'Del Boy' Craig ? (Fools and Horses) The original Flintstones - wonderful animation, script and ideas
LOL..I just mentioned Iconic ones from off the top of my head, I'd be here all day thinking up all of them
No Patsy never watched F&H. Is that classed as retro tv? Of course I watched The Flintstones...yabba dabba doo.. and The Jetsons.
@Craig Swanson - what about 'One Step Beyond' Bloomin' creepy that was (would probably have a good laugh today)
Not that it means a damn thing, but Rod Serling is buried in a small town cemetery about 5 miles from me. His sister used to display his late fifties Jaguar at a lot of the local car shows.
