One of my SIL's sister lives in New Orleans and her apartment was one of the first to flood even before Hurricane Barry came anywhere near shore.
We are safe for now...but I was just watching the latest update and the rain is slow in coming and will probably continue through Monday. The latest prediction says we will be getting around 11 inches of rain in total and unless that rain comes in so slow that it has time to flow and not flood...my daughter's home that flooded before...will probably flood once again.
I put a "like" on your post, but I don't really like to hear about the possibility of more flooding. I hope you and your family will be safe and dry, Babs.
I remember when your daughters' house was flooded @Babs Hunt , it was just before or just after she was moving in I think.. please correct me if I'm wrong... I do hope none of you suffer like that again,!!
It flooded in 2016 Holly and they had been living there for many years when that happened. If Tropical Storm Barry keeps being so disorganized like he has been and the rain comes in spurs with time in between to flow instead of flood...my daughter's home will be fine this time around. The thing is she wasn't even in a flood zone before 2016 but now no one can count on not being in a flood zone sooner or later. Praise God that this storm has been calm compared to some we have had.
My preparation for Barry....two Papa John pizzas, some Popeye's Fried chicken and sides and 3 cases of water.
That sounds awesome @Babs Hunt ! I think that maybe Bobby and I should stock up like that, too. Just in case, you know.
Just to let everyone know...Lafayette, LA made it through Hurricane/Tropical storm Barry just fine. Praise God!
