In general what do you like eating for dinner?
I love eating spaghetti, and different soups. :D
Also I love eating ice-cream for desserts.

I like to have fresh vegetables every day. I usually serve them with pasta and herbs in a homemade sauce, or have them with spices and rice. I rarely eat meat, only chicken occasionally and fish once a week. On a cold winter evening I'll enjoy a hot soup, in summer I have more salads.

Well, ever since yesterday it's been banana pudding.:)

Really, I have so many favorites and different ones for different seasons. One thing I can always enjoy, though, is a good old fashioned charcoal grilled hamburger. My husband loves them, too. When we know we're going to grill some we sing a song--We're gonna' get some grilled out burgers. Grilled out burgers. Grilled out burgers. We're gonna' get some grilled out burgers early in the evening...or as soon as we get home, etc.

Of course we blend in Walmart and nobody notices; but in other stores I guess people think we're nuts.

Salads and vegetables are great for your health, it's great that you eat a lot of them.
And what are the most common salads you eat? Ones that you consider as your favourite? :D

Haha, well grilled hamburgers are great, but they are very unhealthy and considered as junk food.
Wouldn't eat that too much, I like eating healthy. :D

Not so bad for you the way I fix them with a good bit of venison added in; but then there's my second favorite food in the grilled out variety, which I think will probably make you cringe--hot dogs! Yummm!:)

Like many other things, it all depends, and there isn't much that I'd care to eat all the time. During my time in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, I became quite fond of border Mexican food, like fajitas with onions and beans. I very much like the Upper Peninsula (of Michigan) pasties that I grew up eating, as well as my father's potato sausage, which included beef and venison, potatoes and rutabagas, and I don't know what else, but he ground the meat and stuffed the sausages. That was commonly something that was made often during the time from around Thanksgiving through New Years. In our house, they were always boiled but I had an uncle who would fry them, which changed the taste considerably, but they were good both ways. Meat pies were also very good.

Wow Helene, grilling is unhealthy? Who would have thought? Nearly 6 thousand years of Biblical recorded history with people cooking over fires of wood and charcoal. I am absolutely aghast!

And I, of all people, should know those facts! I have only spent 53 years in the food and beverage industry of which I have been a chef for over half of that and I thought I was preparing healthy food for the public.
I will have to do some research and stop all of the restaurants with a grill in the kitchen and tell them what the real truth is.
DOWN WITH GRILLED FOOD! NASTY FOOD SERVED HERE! UNHEALTHY GRILLED FOOD SERVED HERE!! Those should do nicely to display on the very windows of those terrible places.

I am mortified! I and my wife just ate part of a pork shoulder that I smoked off with hickory and cedar for 12 hours yesterday. I wonder how much longer she and I have to live? Give up hotdogs too? Oh, the humanity! Thank you so much for the life saving advice! Now, I will go out and get my signs ready. Hmmmm.....I wonder if I can get a spot on FOX, or MSNBC, or even, yes.....CNN!

Helene, I am missing something about this topic that you started. The question was about what a person's favorite dish was, not how healthy do you eat.
If anyone thought that eating spaghetti and ice cream was not the healthiest choice, no one criticized you for it.
All that Allie did, was respond with what she enjoys eating, which to me, is a perfectly acceptable response.
Whether it was healthy or not was not even mentioned in the topic.
One of my most favorite foods happens to be cheesecake; but that does not mean that i eat cheesecake every day, and my guess would be that none of us eats our favorite foods constantly.
In any case, what each person enjoys is their choice.

@Allie Seay "Well, ever since yesterday it's been banana pudding." That really hit my funny bone!
@Ken Anderson Do you mean the pot pie style or the English kind?

I usually love to eat and cook spicy food, but lately I have been eating Indian food (India) and enjoy it.

I like Italian food in general. Pizza, spaghetti and lasagna, you name it, and I will eat it without saying a thing! It also helps that my wife is really good at cooking Italian dishes, as she has learnt to do so from her best friend which lived in Italy for 20 years.

I am a light eater during dinner, i usually eat a cup of rice, hot vegetable broth, and a small slice of tuna or other fish rich in omega oil.

Given those choices, I suppose it would be the English kind, but it's probably more of a Swedish kind, not much like pot pies.

I like to keep it simple with fruit and vegetables. I don't eat a lot of meat, chicken or fish once or twice a week.
