I thought about this and the only thing I can come up with... since i no longer smoke- to which I always grabbed a ciggie back then.. is standing at the counter drinking tea... exclaiming"and to think I a going to have to go through this with out a cigarette"! " must be five o'clock somewhere "
I pace .. it usually only lasts about 3 or 4 minutes but I can put on a lot of steps in that amount of time depending on how nervous I am. It it's a confined space I am a finger tapper ... should have been a drummer I guess LOL
I find something productive to do when I'm nervous it just depends on what I'm nervous about and where I am at.
@Von Jones My nervous habit, at least the worst one, dated back to maybe age 5: I bit my nails. Nothing my Mother tried could cure me. Then, at age 21, meeting and getting to know a young woman from Germany who happened to be a hairdresser, somehow prompted me to stop. And no, I didn't chew on her instead,..........at least not much! Frank
I used to smoke a cigarette, but now, life has taken that away from me. So now, I just close my eyes until I calm myself down.
I've heard of those and also worry dolls that go under your pillow,I've never used them and don't know what their origin is but I don't understand the function of worry it has no effect on the outcome so I wonder what the beads and dolls would do.
@Julia Curtis Guatemala worry dolls. Someone gave them to my mother years ago, Think originally for children. They are very tiny. Think I still have those. Of course you realize, there just little dolls do not really help with anything.
Yes I do know that.I was allways told that if I couldn't fix it or change it then I had to accept it.So my thought was what purpose would they serve.
