Don't get me started. He always struck me as one of those people who would do anything..to be the center of attention ... might pay people just to get to perform. No talent. Just my impression. Maybe I'm wrong.
@Nancy Hart Thank you for being frank (no pun) and honest! I always perceived him as a ridiculous goof-off, routinely being put in place by Dean Martin. So I did a wiki. Turns out, he was actually an amazing and talented person, in real life not at all like in his movies! Frank
He was also a horrible individual..nasty and difficult and a real Diva.....look at this interview.. this was typically him...
Well, in Jerry's defense... that "interviewer" was pretty pathetic. I'd probably have treated him the same way.
as i said already Jerry lewis was known in the industry all his working life for being awkward , demanding and difficult..
@Holly Saunders If my copy and paste works out, we'll see Jerry Lewis' various awards. Can it be that such acclaim would really be heaped on an individual as bad as you say? Frank surely you must realise that a man's achievement work has no relation to his personality as an individual... most awards in the film industry are given to those who have earned the most for the Film & TV industry... However, you don't Have to believe me...if you want to think he was a good guy go right ahead..I know different...
@Holly Saunders I don't believe he was a "good guy", just question how a "bad guy" could earn such accolades. Per the boldened above, will you tell us what you know about him of a derogatory nature? Frank
If we all knew the dark side(which we all have) and daily habits of people in the Industry, probably would not be putting most of them on a pedestal. Singers included, take a different turn once their name becomes known to the public. Their requests become demands. Workers who work behind the scenes in getting these people prepared for a show or concert could give us all an earful. I have known people who do this and it can be ugly. What amazes me is the waste of foods and goods just to appease their demands. If fame and fortune would make me a bigger A hole than I already ..um might be- I rather live without it.
@Frank Sanoica I wonder what one has to do to win this......... 2015 - Casino Entertainment Legend Award[241] ....and then there was the award he won that is actually called The Jerry Lewis Award. It makes it seem like he created the award and then gave it to himself. I always thought he was quite silly when performing, but in real life, at least he did raise a lot of money for charity, even though he was known to be a self centered jerk.
Difficult choices, those overly-rich are faced with. Give their money to the Feds, or give it away charitably. Frank
