I've learnt that Leonardo De Vinci went missing for 2 years, and people believe he entered a time warp/tunnel and looked into the future. When he returned, he was drawing helicopter - submarine - all kinds of futuristic things Fascinating He was a mysterious guy for sure The programme was titled 'Ancient Aliens' (on Blaze channel) sub title De Vinci It really is a thought provoking series, whether you agree with the theories or not They look at ancient sites across the world - stargates - all sorts of wonders and a lot of what is stipulated, makes sense.
Thank you, @Patsy Faye , and I will see if i can find this online somewhere and can watch it. I really think that there was an advanced civilization back in the past history of this earth, because there are so many things that the history we are thought in school doesn’t fit what has been found. I will do some research and be adding to this thread as I find things, and I think this is a great topic !
Paul just checked for me and they are repeating the series, so will look out for the Da Vinci one I need a refresh as so much to absorb - do you receive the 'Blaze' channel ?
@Patsy Faye I'm not really into aliens, but the show you are referring to really has a lot of interesting ideas to ponder. I've not seen the one about Da Vinci. All the seasons are on HULU. They give a 7 day free trial if someone want to check it out without paying for the channel.
Much appreciated Bess, that will be helpful It is an interesting series with absorbing theories to sift through. A lot makes sense and a fair bit is over the top, but I like to don my thinking cap
What happened to Leonardo da Vinci in the mysterious cave? "Found among Leonardo’s papers were a few personal anecdotes, composed just after his two-year disappearance between 1476 and 1478." “Leonardo details his youthful adventure finding a vast and mysterious cave, he describes being on the edge of this dark cave, and saying that he felt terrified by the darkness of that cave and what might be within it. On the other hand, he felt a certain desire to try to understand what was in there.” "Spoiler Alert: Leonardo did not mention that he encountered with extraterrestrials." "Because Leonardo mentioned the cave as one of the few autobiographical notes he ever made, we can hypothesize that visiting the cave was a very significant event in his life. So why would, Leonardo da Vinci, who almost never wrote about his personal life choose to describe and write about this cave. Looks like the cave event was important to Leonardo."
I felt it was too - he certainly took great inspiration from being there, but it has to be more than that, his drawings were far to detailed to be imagination
Since this is the “outer limits” area of the forum, we can be as creative as we want to be. So I am going to bring in another possibility. Here is a map of what it is believed the Hollow Earth looks like. Personally, I am not sure if it looks like this , but there is a lot of speculation and historical legends about people living in or under the earth. If this were in some way possible, then da Vinci might have gone into the cave and it was an entrance into the “underworld”, “middle earth” or whatever name we might give it. According to the legends about the land inside the hollow earth, it is supposed to be very beautiful, and has people living there who are very advanced, and this is where the craft that we call Flying Saucers comes from, and not from outer space, as we usually think. I believe that we have at least one other Hollow Earth thread here on the forum, so I am not going to try and go off-topic about this, but I do think that we can count it as a possible explanation of what happened in the cave. Jules Verne also wrote about a journey to the center of the earth, and Admiral Byrd alluded to this, too.
Yea, I think there's something to this - the programme did mention 'caves' throughout the series Do you have Hulu @Yvonne Smith
Bobby had Hulu for a while, but he stopped watching it, and so we cancelled the subscription. I will check Netflix and amazon prime movies and see what is on there. I have been really busy the last couple of days and have not really tried to find the information, but maybe later today , when I get everything done that need to be done, I will look.
Leonardo and the whale "Around 1480 when he was not yet thirty, Leonardo da Vinci wrote about what may have been a seminal event in his life. In writing of his travels to view nature he recounted an experience in a cave in the Tuscan countryside: Having wandered for some distance among overhanging rocks, I came to the entrance of a great cavern…[and after some hesitation I entered] drawn by a desire to see whether there might be any marvelous thing within…(Leonardo da Vinci, Codex Arundel, fol. 155r)." "On the next folio he continued, describing what appears to have been a fossil whale embedded in the walls of the cave: O powerful and once-living instrument of formative nature, your great strength of no avail, you must abandon your tranquil life to obey the law which God and time gave to creative nature. Of no avail are your branching, sturdy dorsal fins with which you pursue your prey, plowing your way, tempestuously tearing open the briny waves with your breast. Oh, how many a time the terrified shoals of dolphins and big tuna fish were seen to flee before your insensate fury, as you lashed with swift, branching fins and forked tail, creating in the sea mist and sudden tempest that buffeted and submerged ships… O Time, swift despoiler of created things, how many kings, how many peoples have you undone? How many changes of state and circumstances have followed since the wondrous form of this fish died here in this winding and cavernous recess? Now unmade by time you lie patiently in this closed place with bones stripped and bare, serving as an armature for the mountain placed over you (Leonardo da Vinci, Codex Arundel, fol. 156r)."
