There's a long list of the popular music he's satired, including the Lawrence Welk Show, Banana Boat Song, Heartbreak Hotel, Rock Island Line, Yellow Rose of Texas, and other pop hits from the 50's and 60's.

Altho' a likeable chap..Johnny Paycheck could not sing very well.. and he was a rogue and drug user... but the sentiments of that song are funny..as he was

 

Just love novelty songs, ain't heard one I don't like - yet

 

I may do that song at our next Karaoke Party at the Senior Center.
