Thanks, @Bobby Cole , for your explanation without which I'd have thought, indeed, that you had been a West Point cadet.
No schedule. Breakfast can be anytime between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm, while dinner is usually a matter of grabbing whatever looks like it might be worth eating from the refrigerator, seldom a full meal, and suppertime ranges from about 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. My wife refers to supper as dinner so if we had both meals, we'd be fighting over the language all the time.
Same as Ken... no set time. I usually have my dinner long before my husband gets home from work.. I can't make the same for both of us anyway, because he's a vegetarian ( used to be perscatarian ) but now in fact almost Vegan. . It's 7.30pm now and he won't be home for probably another hour and a half.. so he decides when he gets home what he wants to eat.. The rest of my day.. I just eat when I'm hungry. I don't eat breakfast.. never have been able to eat until at least a couple of hours after I wake.. so when I refer to ''breakfast'', I mean brunch
errm. just re-read my post , I should spell check more often... ''Pescatarian'' not only is there no meat in it there's no R..either.!!
I find it interesting here at my Assisted Living home to observe what time the residents show up in the dining room for breakfast, lunch & dinner. They seem to like breakfast from 7 to 8 AM, Lunch from 11:30 to 12:30 dinner from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Since the Dining Room Staff will prepare & serve a meal no matter what time a resident shows up, I prefer my breakfast around 9 AM , my lunch around 1 PM & dinner around 5PM. Residents can have any of the meals Tray Delivered to their apartment if they do not want to go to the dining room.
I wonder as older people sleep less and are up earlier, they prefer breakfast early, then of course by noon, it's been maybe 5 hours since they ate..and hunger and possibly boredom, might prompt them to eat as early as 11.30.. then 5pm dinner would mean they can make plans for their evening, or go to bed early...
I keep a really weird schedule because I so love early morning hours that are still dark and quiet. Having wacky blood sugar triggered me having a TIA. So, I need to eat something every 3 hours that doesn't include much sugar, low sodium and reduced carbs. I call it the I Now Eat Crap Diet. I'm getting used to not looking forward to meals any longer. It's better than being dizzy. 4:00 dry waffle 7:00 oatmeal 10:00 cereal 1:00 main meal that includes meat and vegetable 4:00 popcorn (while I'm usually online here) 7:00 cottage cheese or cheese I usually go to bed by 8:00.
WoW!! Sorry you have such a bland diet Bess... I hope I never have to go on that diet, I'd have nothing to look forward to if I didn't have nice food!!...8pm to bed?>. I'm such a nightbird I couldn't imagine going to bed at that time. Even up to last year when I took early retirement and had to be up at 5am for a 10 hour day, I still didn't go to bed until around 9.30 or 10pm...
When I was younger, I could drink enough Icehouse to kill a large moose. I've settled in my golden years.
I breakfast at 7:30AM on weekdays and at 9:00AM on weekends. I take my lunch at 1 to 2 PM. Cocktails from 6 to 7 PM. (2 Bacardi & Cokes) I have my evening meal at 8:00PM, served by my Wife in my Bedroom Recliner. I retire at 10-10:30PM, out to the Hammock to sleep for a few hours, then back in the House to bed, arising at 6:30AM. Harry
