@Craig Swanson Right you are! Cottage cheese is an excellent all-round nutritious food. Trouble is, by itself, it gets a bit boring after awhile. True enough, it is high in sodium: regular cottage cheese 390mg per serving, 350mg in low-fat variety. About 1/5 and 1/6 daily adult maximums. IMO, the high protein content offsets the negatives. WE had lunch with friends al fresco at the pub .. too hot outside really but indoors was packed so we had little choice , but we were near the river so it was nice. I had Calamari Rings in tempura batter with onion and radish salad !!
I use Lo-Salt for cooking, and Maldon, sea-salt for the table... It's made in the next county to where I live.. https://www.maldonsalt.co.uk/
It's minced meat usually beef.. and whatever chopped up veggies you want to add , with a gravy, and topped with sweet potato mash then baked in the oven ..like a shepherds pie (which uses lamb and ordinary mashed potato
@Holly Saunders Thanks. What an odd looking dish. I'm not sure I would want the whole meal cooked in one bowl.
@Holly Saunders One of our favorite buffets here often have Calamari, breaded and look just like Onion Rings. So similar, I took a few, and my wife asked me at our table if I knew what they were. I said Onion Rings. She laughed, and suggested I enjoy them. The first one seemed too "chewy", and after all the breading was gone, the remainder resembled a thin rubber band, similarly "chewy". Taste was quite good. Is it really squid tentacles, as my wife claims? Frank
Yes they look very much like Onion rings to the uninitiated. Yes they are Squid Tentacles .. and no they shouldn't taste rubbery ..if they do it's because they've been overcooked...
