But, but........grilled anything adds undesirable fats of various kinds, no? Any one doing such grilling on a new-fangled ceramic, coated skillet? I've worn through the coating on my night-time fry pan, but it took about a year. Fat is of course an essential nutrient. Animal fats are said to be bad, vegetable fats good, hydrogenated fats the worst, saturated, non-saturated, blah, blah, blah. Cheese is of course usually high in fat. Unless made using skim milk, which I agree with, but my wife does not. The old staple Velveeta was always present in our house as a kid. Not sure if it was really "processed cheese food" back then or not. My wife won't buy that kind of cheese, nor low fat or fat free. Have always loved cheese, somewhat less so now that I cannot really taste the flavor. Old age taste-bud syndrome. Frank
i use my george foreman grill and you dont have to use any oil at all---i dont like a grill cheese sandwich cooked in a frying pan
I've always eaten everything that didn't eat me first, they say. Never paid much attention to healthy. Eat what was put on the table. Salt pork and syrup, salt pork and fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Had my first greens after I married. Had numerous friends who ate heathy, admonished me for eating grease, greasy foods, white bread. They all dead. I guess It's a good idea though. But, maybe a man's days are numbered regardless what or how he eats. Maybe not. I now use a George Forman grill. Had two grilled cheese with wieners. Didn't think to send cards.
I love Guacamole but wonder who is responsible for designating September 16th as Guacamole Day. Avacados are a very healthy food.
There’s a day for some food every day. I love avocados also and now that I’m trying to gain weight, eat one every day. They are healthy but they do have a high calorie count which I need right now.
Has anyone tried the frozen version? That would be handy to have around since they go bad so quickly.
Yes, I have tried them but I won't buy them again. I found them pretty tasteless compared to fresh. I do like the "Wholly Guacamole" products, though.
